Looking for a weekend trek, then Nag Tibba is the best bet, located near Queen of Hills, Mussoorie on one of the highest peaks of Garhwal Himalayas; Nag Tibba is considered as a trekker’s delight and is classified as an easy-moderate trek. It is not a very difficult trek in summer and autumn but in winters it could be a little challenging with a lot of snow. Once there you will find yourself surrounded by Nature in its pristine beauty at an impressive height of 9915 Ft. As the name may suggest, Nag Tibba is dedicated to Nag Devta and there is a temple build on the top where local shepherds pay their respect to Nag Devta. The view from the top is mesmerizing and the meadow on hill top offers a comfortable place for camping. The top can be reached from many directions like from Devalsari village, the trek to Nag Tibba is 10 km, from Mangalori Village, from Aunter but the most preferred direction is from Village Pantwari. As you stand on hilltop at Jhand, the view around will leave you breathless as you can see the Peaks of Swargrohini, Gangotri, Bandarpoonch peak, Kala Nag, Srikanta. It does not stop there as you can also looking down towards Village Devalsari on the other side of the ridge.

Nag Tibba has gained immensely in terms of popularity, the prime reason is open all year long and easy connectivity. The base camp for Nag Tibba is Village Pantwari, which around 85 kms from the Capital city Dehradun. The route from Dehradun covers the following route: Dehradun – Mussoorie – Kempty Falls – Yamuna Bridge – Purola – Nain Bagh. It is from here that the 5.5 km steep trek starts which will take us to Nag Tibba. The trek passes through small villages and the entire trail is lined by thick forest cover of Oak and Deodar trees.
Day 1 : Dehradun to Pantwari village and starts trek to Nag Tibba Base Camp
The trek starts with early morning drive from Dehradun to Pantwari Village; the route goes past Mussoorie, Yamuna Bridge and Nainbagh. On arrival at Pantwari it is time to spend some relaxed moments before you embark on the 5.5 kms trek upwards to the base of Nag Tibba which stands at height of 8530 Ft, enroute we halt for a tea break at Goat Village. On reaching Nag Tibba base we pitch our tents and its time to enjoy the evening.
Day 2 : Base to Nagtibba Top, Jhandhi Hills
It is time to rise early to get a head start as it is going to be a long day with lot of walking, first 3 kms trek takes yoy to Nag Tibba at the height of 9915 Ft, visit the Nag Devta temple and walk another 2 Kms to reach the summit, also known as Jhandi Hill. Spend a luxurious time in lap of nature and head back towards the base camp and to Pantwari from where we will drive back to Dehradun.
