This Kenya Last mnute tour takes you to Tsavo East National Park which is situated semi-arid area known as the Taru Desert. The nearest town to the park is Voi in Taita-Taveta County of Coast Province.

“Tsavo” is meant “slaughter” in the native Kenya Akamba peoples’ language, and that’s how the Tsavo River and the Tsavo National Park got the name.

Tsavo is popularity known for diversity of wild game that is seen here; elephants, zebra, kudu, eland, lion, buffalo, hyena, cheetah and many more wild game and over 400 bird species.

On your safari you will also visit Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary – a privately owned wildlife sanctuary in Kenya. It is located in the Coast Province in Taita-Taveta District approximately 220 kilometers from Mombasa.

Taita Hill Wildlife sanctuary covers an area of about 1,100 km2, it is adjacent to Tsavo West National Park. Animals that could be seen within are: leopard, cheetah, buffalo, baboon, elephant, leopard, lion, giraffe, zebra, gazelle, hartebeest, impala, waterbuck, kudu, dik-dik, and others including bird great species. The Salt Lick Game Lodge is an architectural state of the art lodge with all its rooms raised on stilts overlooking a waterhole where animals including elephants and buffalo gather around to quench their thirst. Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Tsavo East / Saltlick - 2 Hrs

  You’ll be up from your hotel at 0500 hrs. Drive to Tsavo East through Bachuma gate and embark on morning game drive in search fo animals; simba, cheetah, hyena, elephant, buffalo zebra or bird as you concentrate towards the direction of Tsavo East Voi gate. Exit and settle down for lunch at a stop over restaurant/hotel. After lunch depart to Taita Hills Sanctuary. An afternoon game viewing enroute to the Lodge Salt Lick Lodge which is a truly unique architectural concept,with luxurious oval-shaped rooms,overlooking a waterhole that attracts a large number of wildlife, especially the elephants. In the evenings the animals gather at the waterhole a spectacular site to behold as they drink at the watering hole. Dinner and overnight at Salt Lick Lodge.
• Day 2 : Saltlick / Mombasa - 3 Hrs Drive

  Pre-breakfast game drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast and proceed on for a morning game drive in search for lions, buffalo, elephants, giraffe, zebra, antelopes, monkeys among many other animals. Lunch at Taita Hills Lodge. After lunch depart for Mombasa arriving late in the afternoon. You’ll be dropped back to the hotel.
