Probably the most famous park in the world, the Masai Mara is an exceptionally rich ecosystem, alive with over 95 types of mammals. Here you’ll find all the big cats but also great herds of elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and even the rare and endangered rhino.

Now picture all this wildlife set upon a landscape of green rolling hills, painted with iconic acacia trees that frame the dawning and evening sun with photographic perfection.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Diani Beach – Masai Mara 2 Hour Flight

  Meals: Lunch & Dinner
  
  6:30 am – Ready to safari? You may be groggy-eyed but the wildlife is waiting. We’ll pick you up from your beach resort for the short ride to Diani Airport. Lifting off about 8 am, you’ll take in the plains and homesteads below and see the towering snow-capped form of Mt. Kilimanjaro rising in the distance.
  
  You’ll soon touch down at an airstrip bordering the Masai Mara, where your Africa Kenya Safaris guide will welcome you to the park and usher you to a private open-sided/open-top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep – your wildlife viewing platform for the next three days.
  
  Next, you can stop to freshen up at your accommodation, or head straight into your first game drive at this rich eco-system. Throughout your Africa safari, you’ll enjoy as many game drives as you please.
  
  Your guide is a wonderful source of inspiration, fun, and adventure. He’ll tell you all about the park, the wildlife, and answer any questions you may have. You can also plan with him which parts of the park you’d most like to visit, or as the days go by… revisit.
  
  But on this first day, you’re certain to discover plenty of animal sightings as you become accustomed to the rhythms of the safari life.
  
  As late afternoon rolls in you’ll enjoy your first Mara sunset as you head back to your lodge or tented camp for a delicious dinner and relaxation.

• Day 2 : Full Day at the Masai Mara

  Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
  
  We’ll rise with the sun on our second safari day to catch the wildlife searching for their breakfast. This is a world of big cats – lions, leopards, cheetahs, plus elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and rhino.
  
  But for an overwhelming wildlife experience, we’ll head down to the Mara River which is where thousands of wildebeests and zebra cross during the Great Migration. They’ll come up against the park’s predators – first crocodile, then lion, cheetahs, and during the quiet nighttime hours… leopards.
  
  We can also include a cultural encounter with the nearby Maasai. Your safari guide will set up a visit to the local village where you’ll meet these indigenous people and learn about their history and lifestyle. You can even pick up some beaded souvenirs of your time on safari.
  
  For a big, dramatic moment, we offer a dawn hot air balloon safari over the Mara. You’ll witness the park light up below as you travel with the currents, viewing the wildlife and the landscapes. A not-to-be-missed adventure.

• Day 3 : Masai Mara – Diani Beach 2 Hour Flight

  Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
  
  We’re on safari so let’s make the most of the day by rising with the wildlife while the park is quiet and fresh with the early morning dew. We’ll venture out in our Jeep for some sightings of the big cats or perhaps a family of elephants marching by.
  
  If you have any favorite viewing spots, your guide will oblige… or perhaps make suggestions for some new explorations.
  
  But now it’s time to return to the Kenya coast. Enjoy a final game drive as you head to the airstrip where your plane awaits.
  
  You’ll lift off at about 14:00 (2 pm) and be back at the coast at approximately 16:30 (4:30 pm) where you’ll be met by a representative of Africa Kenya Safaris who will bring you back to your resort.
