Home to some of the most special animal encounters on the planet you will get to trek and spend time with rare and critically endangered Mountain Gorillas and the unique and playful Golden Monkeys.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : WELCOME, TOUR BRIEFING AND TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK, RWANDA.

  Welcome to Kigali, Rwanda. Our tour representative and your driver/guide will meet you at 8am, Kigali International Airport.
  Here we warmly welcome you and provide a detailed briefing before we head off on the 2-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park in the north of Rwanda. En route you will discover why Rwanda is called The Land of a Thousand Hills as the drive is very scenic.
  On arrival and if the weather cooperates you will travel through the city of Musanze and then arrive at your lodge with great views of the Peaks of Volcanoes National Park.
  Have lunch, then refresh and relax in the grounds of your lodge before we take an afternoon tour to Ibyiwacu Cultural Village where you get to experience and discover what life was like in per-colonial Rwanda.
  Afterwards transfer back to your accommodation to enjoy the facilities and views before your big trek tomorrow.
  Lunch, dinner and overnight at your accommodation of choice

• Day 2 : MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREK

  Today you have a unique and privileged experience to trek and meet at close quarters the rare Mountain Gorilla. There are only around 880 of these magnificent creatures left in the world with around 1/3 of those in the Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda.
  This is considered one of the great natural animal encounters on the planet.
  Early in the morning after breakfast you will be taken to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters where you will be educated on the trek, Gorilla behavior and assigned in to groups of suitable fitness.
  Then set off for your Mountain Gorilla t racking. This experience of gorilla tracking is a once in a life time adventure.
  The rangers will lead you deep into the forest in search for the Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about 1 hour once your find them.
  The activity in Rwanda can take 3-5 hours since the gorillas move up and down. This is an awesome and exciting moment. En route there are is a possibility of meeting other primates such as monkeys and various types of species of birds.
  Return to your lodge to swap stories and experiences of your incredible trek with each other and other guests.
  Dinner and overnight stay at your accommodation of choice

• Day 3 : GOLDEN MONKEY TREK. TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI FOR A CITY TOUR AND RWANDAN SPECIALITY COFFEE MASTER CLA

  After and early breakfast we leave for the Golden Monkey Trek at 7am. Golden Monkeys are very rare and nowhere in Africa is there better access to large habituated numbers than in Rwanda.
  These unique, playful and beautiful creatures will entertain you for a good hour and the trek on average is normally much easier than the Gorilla Trek.
  After the trek return to your lodge for a freshen up and check out. Your departing flight doesn’t leave until the evening so now we will transfer to Kigali and use our remaining time to experience the culture and coffee of Rwanda.
  On arrival we take you to visit the educational, emotional, challenging and inspiring Kigali Genocide Memorial. This transparent memorial will educate you on the causes, horrors, impact and ultimately inspiring reconciliation that is unprecedented in its successes.
  From this moving experience we then take lunch and then visit Nyamirambo Women’s Centre. Here we do an interesting walking tour of Kigali and see the real and interesting sites of every day Rwandan’s.
  Our final activity of the day is a Coffee Master Class at Question Coffee.
  Rwanda is home to some of the world’s best specialty coffee and no one knows more about it than Question Coffee. Here you will learn about Rwandan Coffee Culture, coffee making, tasting, roasting and packing. This is a very enjoyable sensory experience.
  As your flight leaves at 8:40pm we will take you to dinner at one of Kigali’s very good restaurants before transferring you to Kigali Airport for your flight home.
