Perfect for the person wanting to experience the magnificent Mountain Gorillas of Virunga, Congo on a great budget with a only a few days.

We take you from Kigali, Rwanda across the border to Virunga National Park where after overnighting you get to trek for the famous and rare Mountain Gorillas and spend time with the inspirational park rangers.

After the trek we transfer you back to Kigali and a nice overnight stay before taking a very interesting and inspiring City Tour which includes the incredible Kigali Genocide Memorial.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Welcome, Breifing & Transfer to Virunga, Dr Congo

  We warmly greet you at the arrivals hall of Kigali International Airport. Your African Unique Safaris and Tours representative will then introduce you to your driver/guide and take you for a nice cup of Rwandan coffee for a tour briefing.
  
  Then your driver guide will take you to the Rwanda/Congo border and assist you across to our Congo driver/guide representative waiting on the other side. They will then take you to your accommodation of choice in readiness for tomorrow’s amazing Mountain Gorilla trek.
• Day 2 : Mountain Gorilla Trek. Transfer Back to Kigali.

  After breakfast your driver/guide will transfer you to the Virunga National Park for a briefing by the expert rangers and guides.
  
  Here you will learn the basics of Mountain Gorilla behavior and some Gorilla language before heading off with your group to find a troop of Mountain Gorillas.
  
  The trek can take between 2-6 hours depending on the movements of these creatures up and down the Virunga hills looking for food.
  
  Once you come across your troop you get an hour in their presence to witness their interaction, play, feeding and sleep. It’s often described as once of the planets great animal encounters.
  
  After the trek head back to your accommodation for a freshen up and lunch before being transferred back to the border to your Rwanda driver/guide who will transport you back to Kigali for a comfortable rest whilst you relive and reminisce about your experience.
• Day 3 : Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Departing Flight

  After a nice relaxing breakfast your driver/guide will pick you up and take you for a Kigali Tour. This includes the emotionally challenging, educational and inspiring Kigali Genocide Memorial. The sadness soon gives way to inspiring hope as you find out how successful the post 1994 event’s re-invention and reconciliation efforts have had.
  
  After the tour we will transfer you to Kigali International Airport in time for your departing flight and hope to you see you again soon to share more this amazing region and continents highlights.
