Package Overview

High alpine grassland with backdrop of majesctic snow capped Himalayas used by tribal herdsmen to graze their cattle. This is what you get to see on this tour to Bedni Bugyal and Ali Bugyal. These are vast expanse of the alpine meadows, locally called Bugyal which are famous for wild high altitude flowers and herbs. Situated at an altitude of 3350 meters Bedni Bugyal also serves as a stopover for the famed Roopkund trek and a major way-station on the Nanda Raj Jaat Yatra, a ritual procession held every 12 years. The Vaitarni Lake also called the Bedni Kund is located in this region, and is famous for the rare Brahma Kamal flower. There are two shrines here, one a small temple of Nanda Devi and the other a shrine for Latu. Auli Bugyal is a very large alpine meadow which has expanse of grass land that covers several hundred acres of land, towards the sides of a wide ridge; Bedni Bugyal lies beyond this ridge. The entire region is lush green and surrounded by high mountains like Trishul, Nandaghunti and Mrigthuni. The highest ridge of Bedni Bugyal gives you panoramic views of the surrounding peaks of Kedarnath, Mandani, Neelkanth and Chaukhamba pillars (I, II, III, IV).

More about the Trek:

This tour begins as you reach Mundoli after a long drive from Rishikesh and thereafter take the thrilling climb to Bedni Bugyal and Ali Bugyal. The trail goes through Rhododendrons Forests and offers spectacular views of Himalayan. The base camp is Gairoli Patal from where we go for a day to explore both these Bugyals.
Bedni Bugyal is a charming green meadow adorned with flowers and backdrop of mighty Himalayas. There is a small lake situated in the midst of the meadow where Tarpans are offered by the devotees. Situated nearby is a small temple where the devotees pay their obeisance during their halt at Bedni Bugyal.
Ali Bugyal is aother highland pasture in the Garhwal Himalaya known as the "Heaven Terrace"located close to Bedni Bugyal. On either side of the bugyal there are coniferous, oak and deodar forests and in the backdrop of is Peaks of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Mana Peak, Dunagiri, Hathi Parbat and Ghora Parbat peaks of the Himalayas

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Rishikesh – Karanprayag – Mundoli

  This adventure travel begins with early morning drive from Rishikesh to Mundoli which is about 240 Kms. The route is all along River Alaknanda and River Pindar, passing by towns of Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karanprayag Tharali and Gwaldam. On arrival at Mundoli we check into our guest house or homestay and relax for the rest of the evening. Stay overnight in Mundoli.

• Day 2 : Mundoli – Wan – Gairoli Patal

  Another day with lots of adventure ahead. We drive about 10 Kms to the last village Wan. Relax for a while before embarking for a 9 Km trek to Gairolipatal which is our base camp for Bedni and Ali Bugyal. This uphill trail from Village Wan first heads to temple of Lord Latu Devta and further lead to Ranaka Dhar, Neel Ganga and Gairoli Patal The route is covered with Oak and Rhododendron forest with backdrop of beautiful Himalayas. On arrival at Gairoli Patal we check in to a Homestay and relax for rest of the evening. Stay overnight in Gairoli Patal.

• Day 3 : Gairoli Patal – Bedni Bugyal - Ali Bugyal – Gairoli Patal

  All geared up today to explore the beautiful meadows of Ali and Bedni. We start early for a 4 Km trek to Bedni Bugyal and further 2 Kms to Ali Bugyal. The entire route is very scenic with merimizing views of the famous mountain peaks of Trishul, Nandagunti, Nilkantha Peak, and Chandrashila Peak. Explore the beautiful meadows and Bedni Kund and later walk back to Gairoli Patal and relax for rest of the evening. Stay overnight in Gairoli Patal.

  This is the last leg of this beautiful journey as we walk down to Village Wan and drive back to Rishikesh.
