Package Overview

Faraway in the hills of Chamoli Uttarakhand lies Brahmatal also reffered to as a Frozen glacial lake during winters. Brahmatal is a high altitude alpine lake tucked in the Garhwal region of the Himalayas at an altitiude of about 7000 feets. Its believed to be the meditation site of Lord Brahma. The region is known for its enormous beauty with amazing closeup views of Mount Trishul and Mount Nanda Ghunti. Brahmatal Summit gives mesmerizing golden views of the glowing snow-clad peaks during sunrise and the nights are full of glowing stars.This trail to Brahmatal goes through Rhododendrons Forests and you are greeted by up close views of Mt. Trishul and Mt. Nanda Ghunti from most of the ridges. The 12 kilometers long trail to Brahmatal starts from Lohajung village and involves walking through snow for most part during winters. During this trek also you get to camp by the side of two different lakes- Bekal Tal and Brahmatal which are frozen in the months of December-January.


More about the Trek:
This tour begins as you reach Lohajung after a long drive from Rishikesh and thereafter take the thrilling climb to the Brahmatal and Brahmatal summit. The trail goes through Rhododendrons Forests and offers spectacular views of Himalayan. Camp besides the Bekaltal and Brahmatal to get spectacular views of the snow covered peaks of Trishul, Nadaghunti, Chowkhamba, Nilkanth and Hathi Parvat and climb up Brahmatal Top to get 360 degree view of might Himalayas.
Lohajung is a small hamlet enroute to the most popular Nanda Devi Rajyat Yatra held once in 12 years and trek to Roopkund and Bedni Bugyal. Lohajung, as the locals say, is the place where Goddess Parvati had a jung (war) with the demon, Lohasur
The Brahamatal Lake is set in the middle of the vast meadow with a wide open valley in the backdrop and offer faraway views of Tharali and Gwaldam and amazing closeup views of Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. The lake is frozen during winter months of December and Janurary.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Rishikesh – Karanprayag – Lohajung

  We begin our thrilling trek to Brahmatal with an early morning drive from Rishikesh to Lohanjung which is about 220 Kms. The route is all along River Alaknanda and River Pindar, passing by towns of Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karanprayag Tharali and Gwaldam. On arrival at Lohajung we check into our guest house or homestay and relax for the rest of the evening. Stay overnight in Lohajung.

• Day 2 : Lohajung – Bekaltal Lake – Telandi

  Lots of adventure ahead for the day as we embark on an 8 km uphill trek to Telandi which is our base camp for tonight. The trail is gradually ascending through forests on well defined trails. After a short climb is Mandoli village on your left and from a little higher one can view the divine confluence of rivers Kali and Pindari in the Kali Valley. The trail is lined up with rhododendron trees till Begum; Begum offers vast views of Navali Bugyal and Bagdi Bugyal. We trek further up to Bekaltal surrounded by a thick cluster of Oak trees and another 2 Kms takes us to Telandi which is a vast meadow at 11,500 feet.On arrival we pitch our tents and relax for the evening. Stay overnight in Telandi.

• Day 3 : Telandi – Brahmatal

  Rise up early to see the amazing sunrise, walk around Telandi and later trek another 5 Kms to Brahmatal. The trail is moderate with Initial steep climb and then a meadow where you ascend gradually and then descent to Brahmatal. The route is very scenic and you get to see most beautiful mountains and peaks of Himalayas like Mt. Trishul, Mt. Nandaghunti. On arrival at Bhahmatal we pich our tents near to the lake and trek further up to Bhrahmatal top which is about 3 Kms from the Campsite. Return back and relax for rest of the evening. Stay overnight in Bhahmatal.

• Day 4 : Brahmatal – Wan – Rishikesh

  This is the last day of our travel as we walk back to Village Wan and drive back to Rishikesh.

• By Air:- Nearest Airport is Jolly Grant in Deharadun. From the outside of Airport you can pick private taxi or sharing jeep for Lohajung which near to WAN.
• By Train:- Garhwal Region nearest Railway Station Hridwar/ Rishikesh. Then you can catch direct bus for WAN which stand outside Rishikesh Bus Depot in GVMN bus stand near to Tehri bus stand.
• Kaumaon Region nearest Railway station is Kathgodam. From outside the railway station you can pick share jeep for Lohajung which near to WAN.
• By Bus:- Rishikesh Bus Depot well connects with all Neighboring State of Uttarakhand. Then you can catch direct bus for WAN which stand outside Rishikesh Bus Depot in GVMN bus stand near to Tehri bus stand.
