Package Overview

Head on to the most beautiful region of Deoriatal, Tunganath and Chandrashila Summit, situated in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and considered as one of the most attractive trails for beginners. The base for this trek is Chopta which is a high altitude meadow also known as mini Switzerland. The Tungnath temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva is the highest Shiva Temple at an altitude of about 3680 meters, about 4 Kms steep climb from Chopta. Further climb 1 Km to reach Chandrashilla summit at an elevation of about 4100 meters, Chandrashila is the rocks above the Tunganath temple also known by the name of Moon Rock, It’s from here you get to witness a panoramic 360 degrees view of the very majestic Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi, Bandarpunch, Chaukhamba and Kedar Peak and the moment is amazing as you stand for the heavenly experience of nature in its purest form and that priceless breath of fresh mountain air. This region is also a favorite paradise for bird watchers with abundance of birds of rare species. Deoriatal is a little away from Chopta on the Chopta-aUkhimath route, a little detour takes you to Village Sari from where it’s a short hike of 3 Kms, Deoriatal is famous as it is one of the most beautiful lakes located at end of trek which passes through dense forest cover. This lake is an epitome of natural beauty as one can see in it reflection of mighty Himalayan peaks of Chaumukha and Neelkanth.

Deoriatal, Tunganath and Chandrashila summit is one of the popular treks for beginers and is open all year long and easy connectivity. The base camp for this trek is Chopta which is alpine grassland and is about 230 Kms from Rishikesh. The route from Rishikesh goes past Devprayag – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Ukhimath and to Chopta which is our base camp. Chopta to Tunganath and Chandrashilla summit is a well laid steep trail of about 4 Kms and passes through small meadows lined by thick forest. Village Sari is at a short distance from Chopta, it’s from here we take the short hike of about 3 Kms to reach Deoriatal.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Rishikesh to Village Sari - Deoriatal

  Need to get up and start early to cover the 200 kms distance from Rishikesh to village Sari (Transport cost is not included and is on request), the drive will meander past Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Ukhimath. On arrival at Village Sari it is time to spend some relaxed moments before you embark on the 3 kms trek upwards to Deoriatal which is our camp location for tonight at an elevation of 2430 meters, the trail passes through dense forest cover of Rhodendron Trees. On reaching Deoriatal we pitch our tents and its time to enjoy the evening. Stay overnight in Deoriatal.

• Day 2 : Deoriatal to Village Sari and drive to Chopta

  Deoriatal is a dream destination as on one side it’s a dense forest and on other hand is amazing cover of grassland. Get up early and experience the most beautiful sunrise as the golden rays of Sun falls on the snowcapped Himalayan peaks. Spend a luxurious time in lap of nature and head back towards Village Sari, visit Omkareshwar temple at Ukhimath and further driving to Chopta. On arrival at Chopta we pitch our tents and its time to enjoy the evening. Stay overnight in Chopta.

• Day 3 : Chopta – Tunganath – Chandrashilla - Chopta

  Chadrashilla summit is best known for its Sunrise, get up very early and walk up the well laid trail of 4 Kms to Tunganath Temple and Chandrashilla Summit which passes through lush green meadows. Tungnath stand at an impressive elevation of 3680 Mts and another 1 Km trek from this point takes us to Chandrashila peak at almost 4100 meters from here you get to see the beautiful panaromic view of snow capped Himalayan mountains. Spend those priceless moments of relaxation before you descend back to Chopta. Stay overnight in Chopta.

  Its time to head back home with fond memories of this wonderful tour, take the drive back to Rishikesh on the same route or via Gopeshwar, Karanprayag, Rudraprayag, Devprayag.
