General Information About Tour
Visit To Ta Dzong Built In 1646 By Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel, Currently The National Museum That Once Served As The Watchtower For Paro Dzong; Drukgyel Dzong Built In 1647 By Zhabdrung To Commemorate The Victory Over Tibetan Invaders In1644 Which Is Now In Ruins; Kyichu Lhakhang, One Of The Most Sacred Temples In Bhutan Built In 636 Ad By A Tibetan King Songtsen Gompo. It Houses The Crowned Buddha (Jowo) And Padmasambhava.
Day 1 : Bangkok – Bhutan
The flight takes you over the great Himalayas, offering the most beautiful scenery of the world’s highest glacial peaks. As you enter Paro valley, you will see the rinpung dzong (Spiritual and Temporal seat), the national museum and the Paro town. Our team will welcome you at the airport and drive you through the fascinating valley of Paro to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The distance from airport to Thimphu is 55kms and takes about 1.45 hours along the Pachu River and wangchu River, and through paddy fields, orchards and farms.
Dinner and overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 2 : Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast, it is time for you to enjoy a full day sightseeing that includes visits to Memorial Chorten(stupa), the most impressive stupa built in 1974 by the Grand Queen Mother Ashi Phuntsho Choden in the memory of the Third King of Bhutan; National Library which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts, manuscripts and also modern academic books; Handicrafts Emporiums that displays wide range of beautifully woven fabrics for man and women, crafted products and other decorative items; Painting School, famous for traditional thangka paintings from where you can also buy if u like them; Institute of Traditional Medicine where rich herbal medicines abundant in the kingdom are prepared; Tashichhodzong, the fort that houses the King’s Throne Room and other government offices. It is also the summer residence of the Monk Body.
Dinner and overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 3 : Thimphu – Paro
Today after breakfast, drive back to Paro for your challenging hike to Tiger’s nest which is almost 3 hours hike. Taktshang which means the Tiger’s lair, a Buddhist Monastery perched on a steep cliff is another awe striking place You can also choose to reach by using horse.
