This park acquired the name after the queen of England Elizabeth visited Uganda an took a safari in this park. A home to over 600 bird species and 100 mammals species offers a lot more including seeing the mountain climbing lions in the Ishasha region.
Enroute to your safari you will enjoy the magnificinet view of the crater lakes, the Tea gardens in addition to exploring the Kyambura gorge famous for its chimpanzee tracking, exploring the Lakes George and Edward. The Maramagambo forest is habitat to an attractive diversity of monkeys, Warthogs, lions, Monkeys, Leopards, Bush pigs, Elephants, various antelopes, Hyenas, Hippos and Crocodiles plus birds, the crater lakes hold thousands of the beautiful pink flamingoes.
After an early breakfast, one of our guides will collect you from your accommodation in Kampala by 7:00am and drive you to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
This drive will take you through the gorgeous countryside with a stop over at the Equator to take some photographs and another in Mbarara for lunch. from there you will continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park as you marvel at the breath taking scenery, tea plantations, the open grasslands, long horned –Ankole Cattle, the woodlands and the Rift Valley Escarpment.
In the afternoon you will have your first game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park and this will give you the opportunity to see the various animals and colorful birds. Have your camera on standby so as not to miss out on any photographic opportunity as our guide will lead you on this drive showing and explaining to you more about the trees, birds, animals, plants and reptiles including warthogs, giant African Elephants, king of the jungle- lion among many others.
Start the day with an early cup tea/coffee before embarking on a game drive along the Queen’s Mile plus the Kasenyi trail. On this drive you will come across large elephant herds, see some lions in the far Savannah grass plus Buffaloes grazing in addition to Birds and colorful butterflies.
This early morning game drive may last between 1 and 3 hours which you actually won’t be able to realize how fast time goes by.
In the afternoon, enjoy a 2 hours boat ride on the Kazinga Channel where you will encounter Buffaloes, Elephants, Hippos, kobs plus warthogs among others. It is a fascinating, unhurried boat ride which is actually the highlight of a Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park. This ride will also enable you to see an array of birds.
After that you will leave for the boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to see hippos playing, numerous bird species, buffaloes as well as crocodiles. You will then have you final dinner on this Uganda safari in Queen Elizabeth as doze away to the gentle echoes of the habitants of the surrounding
With wonderful memories of the previous day, you will have a hefty breakfast as you prepare for a return trip back to kampala; In the morning you will enjoy breakfast at leisure and there after begin your journey back to Kampala. have lunch at the splendid Kingfisher lodge before continuing to Entebbe.
