Package Overview

The Akagera boasts of unique Ecology with a combination of swampy wetlands, woodland and a few mountainous habitats. Akagera is home to the greatest diversity of large mammals in Rwanda. This safari offers game drives around the park and a boat ride on Lake Ihema.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Akagera National Park

  In the morning, city tour of Kigali, where you will have a tour around the city including the market visits, handicraft shop visits, Kimironko local market to have the chance to choose a fruit basket, genocide museum, Kanombe State house museum, visit and many others before proceeding to Akagera National Park. Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.

  • Meals & Drinks Half board
• Day 2 : Full day Games drive - Akagera NP exploration.

  After breakfast hotel, collect your packed lunch and start a full day game drive in the park with possible Sightings of buffalo, topi, plains zebras, elands, impalas, giraffes, reedbucks, water bucks, elephants and sitatungas. After lunch have a boat ride on Lake Ihema. You will view hippos and crocodiles and other marine life. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.

  • Meals & Drinks Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
• Day 3 : Homestay - Local Village Visit - Departure

  After breakfast, drive to the local village and visit one of the families to learn the local way of life and spend enough time with them. This tour is designed for our clients in order to have a complete understanding the way the local people live outside the city.. how and what they eat, cultivate, how they process cow milk, Lunch in the family before proceeding to Kigali either for flight back.
