4 Day Catholic Trip to Jerusalem and the Holy Land Tour

Package Overview

This is a Four Day tour to Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Jericho from Amman or other points in Jordan visiting the main Christian sites of this special city. It starts and ends in Amman or elsewhere in Jordan. It includes the Mount of Olives, Gethsemane, the Old City of Jerusalem with the Via Dolorosa, Church of Holy Sepulchre, and Dome of the Rock and Wailing Wall. It continues the next day to Bethlehem, the New City of Jerusalem. On the third day the tour includes Qumran, and Masada, and the final day concludes your tour with a trip to Nazareth and Galilee/Tiberius before returning to Amman.Entrances fees (approx $10-15 - paid directly by clients).
Exit tax out of Israel / Palestine: NIS 182 pp (approx $52 pp - subject to change)
Exit tax out of Jordan (JOD 10 pp, approx $15 - subject to change)
Transfers between border terminals. Cost of shuttle bus is JOD 7 pp ( $10) plus JOD 1.50 ($3) per piece of luggage each way.
Optional VIP Crossing Service at border - approx $110 pp each way.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Amman, Bridge, Mount of Olives, Old City Tour

  7:00am collections from your door in Amman and transfer to King Hussein / Allenby Bridge Israeli Terminal (crossing using shuttle bus or VIP service - customer to pay directly) and on to Jerusalem.
  
  Drive to the Mount of Olives for a wonderful view of Jerusalem.
  
  Then go to the Pater Noster with the Lord's Prayer in different languages.
  
  From the Mount of Olives the traditional Palm Sunday route takes you to the foot of the hill and sees the Garden of Gethsemane with its ancient olive trees.
  
  Enter the Old City through the Dung gate to visit the Wailing (or western) Wall and view the Haram Al Sharif and the Dome of the Rock.
  
  Walk the Via Dolorosa with its Stations of the Cross till you arrive at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where Jesus was crucified and buried, and then rose again.
  
  Leave the city through the bazaars to the west by Jaffa Gate.
  
  Ask your driver/guide about times and locations for local Mass.
  
  Overnight at a Christian hospice in Jerusalem.​
• Day 2 : Bethlehem, Shepherds Field and New City of Jerusalem

  Depart from your hotel to Bethlehem, crossing into the West Bank and stopping at the Separation Wall.
  
  Then into Bethlehem to see the Church of Nativity.
  
  Onto the Shepherd's Fields in Beit Sahour.
  
  Visit the picturesque village of Ein Karem, birthplace of John the Baptist.
  
  Then drive through the New City of Jerusalem and visit the various landmarks.
  
  Overnight in Jerusalem.
• Day 3 : Shrine of the Book, Baptism Site, Qumran, Masada, Jerusalem

  Begin the day by travelling through the new part of the city, passing the Knesset and the Hebrew University, to the Israel Museum to see the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are kept.
  
  Continue South along the Dead Sea and visit the Baptism site, where Christ was baptised.
  
  Continue past Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.
  
  Visit Masada, the desert fort and site of the last stand of the Jews against the Romans.
  
  Overnight in Jerusalem.
• Day 4 : Nazareth & Galilee / Tiberius

  Depart from your hotel and drive to Nazareth, the boyhood village of Jesus, now a bustling city. At the Church of the Annunciation you will see visitors from all corners of the world, and this is reflected in the décor of the modern building.
  
  Then drive north to Capernaum where you will see the Synagogue where Jesus taught and the other remains of this once prosperous town on the shores of the Sea of Galilee that became his adopted home.
  
  You will visit the Mount of Beatitudes, scene of the famous Sermon on the Mount, and Tabgha, where the miracle of the feeding the 5000 is said to have happened.
  
  Stop at the Church of the Primacy where Peter was told by Jesus that to continue his work, and try walking on water.
  
  Finish tour in Galilee at 4:00pm and return to Allenby Crosing (crossing using shuttle bus service) and on to Amman.
