Raining Season
During the raining season (June – September) we might need to amend the program to cater for different weather conditions. Such alterations of the original tour program are for participants’ safety and therefore no change in price or refund is available. Please ask us the latest info when you make an inquiry for a tour during the raining season. During the rainy season, you are likely to encounter leeches so please bring suitable clothing.

Day 1 : Overland journey from Mae Sot to Umphang and river rafting
08:00am pickup from your Mae Sot accommodation. Drive the winding mountain road on the back of a songtaew (covered pick-up truck typically used in Thailand) following a picturesque mountain road to reach the Umphang valley; this is a scenic 165 km journey passing Karen and Hmong Water cascades along the Mae Klong River Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary Thailand Trekkingvillages as well as thick jungle. Arrive in Umphang valley where you meet your guides and transfer to the Mae Klong River to paddle downstream on a rubber raft reaching a local hot spring. Stop for lunch before continuing on a relaxing afternoon paddle alongside limestone cliffs, untouched forest and water cascades (including Ti Lojor Spray waterfall) eventually arriving at a clearing on the riverbed. We set up camp here; relax by the river as your guides prepare a delicious dinner by candlelight. Spend the evening as you choose under the moonlight surrounded by stars and the sounds of the jungle.
Please note: this overnight stop has no running water or bathroom facilities, a rugged jungle experience like no other!
Day 2 : Thi Lo Su waterfall
Wake up to the sun shining through the jungle trees and enjoy breakfast before continuing the journey to Thi Lo Su waterfall; trek 8km (mostly uphill) to reach the Thi Lo Su Forestry Headquarters where we camp the night. Eat lunch before walking 30 minutes to the magnificent Thi Lo Su Waterfall. Admire this unique, multi-tiered waterfall and spend the afternoon swimming in the refreshing pools. Later return to the headquarters for another Thai dinner served by your guides; sit back and enjoy your surroundings amidst Umphang Wildlife sanctuary.
Please note: the campsite offers clean, shared bathroom facilities as well as a shop with small selection of drinks and snacks.
Day 3 : Trek to a remote Karen village and experience real local life
Wake to the sounds of nature and rise at your leisure. We can take our time for breakfast before Local waterfall in a Karen village, Umphang Thailand Trekkingtrekking 8km alongside a stream leading to a rustic Karen village. Along the way, listen to the sound of unique bird life whilst hiking through bamboo forest and passing by rice fields. Arrive at the Karen village where you will find the bamboo hut in which you will spend the night just like a hilltribe family! Relax and refuel with lunch before your guides (and perhaps a few local friends) lead you to one the areas best kept secrets – a hidden waterfall arguably more beautiful than the famed Thi Lor Su. Spend the afternoon swimming in this magical place before returning through farmland and ricefields to the village in time for dinner. Enjoy your final candlelit evening of the expedition sleeping in your Karen bamboo hut.
Day 4 : Final trek through the jungle and return to Mae Sot
Enjoy breakfast prepared fresh by your guides and experience the morning lifestyle in a traditional Karen village. Then embark on the final hike of this expedition; approximately 3 hours up and over a hill to reach the Mokido river crossing. Our vehicle will be waiting ready to transfer you back to Umphang (approximately 30 minutes) where you will have lunch at a hillside guesthouse before beginning the long drive back to Mae Sot.
