Introduction

For this trekking safari, you will be provided with three nights accommodation. For the first night, you will stay at Old Moses Camp. On the second night, you will be at Shipton Camp. Then, you will stay again at Old Moses Camp on the third or last night of the tour.

All accommodation will be in campgrounds. All your equipment will be carried by vehicles or local porters; you will only have to carry a daypack with personal gear.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Nairobi to Sirimon Park Gate (2,600 meters), transfer and trek to Old Moses Camp (3,340 meters)

  Early in the morning you will be picked up from your accommodation in Nairobi around 8:00 a.m. and drive through the Kikuyu countryside to the slopes of Mount Kenya, passing by the equator. After lunch in Nanyuki Town, you will drive to Sirimon Park Gate (2,600 meters).
  
  After park entrance formalities, you will start hiking to Old Moses Camp (3,300 meters). You will climb through bamboo, rosewood, and heather forests, viewing beautiful wildlife such as buffaloes, elephants, bushbucks, and many bird species. You will spend your overnight in Old Moses Camp. Dinner and lunch will be provided for this day.

• Day 2 : Old Moses Camp to Shipton Camp (4,236 meters)

  After an early breakfast, you will hike along the Mackinders Valley until Shipton Camp (4,236 meters), at the base of Mount Kenya’s high peaks. During this day's exciting trek, you will test your individual endurance while you hike across hills and valleys through the sprawling moorlands
  
  During the day, you can enjoy wonderful views of the main peaks up above, as well as several unique plants and animals such as the giant groundsels, lobelias, and the mountain rock hyrax. Overnight is in Shipton’s hut. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided for this day.

• Day 3 : Trek to Old Moses Camp (3,340 meters) via Point Lenana (4,985 meters)

  Summit day! You will start your journey nice and early at 3:00 a.m. You will hike up steep scree slopes and across rugged rocks up to Point Lenana (4,985 meters), the hiker’s summit. From there, you can enjoy an outstanding sunrise, admiring Mount Kilimanjaro 340 kilometers to the south when the weather is clear.
  
  Then, you will hike back down to Shipton Camp and after a nice brunch, descend down to Old Moses Camp where you will stay overnight. Please note that there is an optional hike down via Chogoria route available at an extra cost. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided for this day

• Day 4 : Trek Old Moses to Sirimon Park Gate (2,600 meters) and return to Nairobi

  After breakfast, you will descend gradually through the rainforest to Sirimon Park Gate. Then, you will drive back to Nanyuki and onwards to Nairobi, full of everlasting memories. For this day, breakfast and lunch will be provided.
