This is itinerary gives clients an opportunity to experience one of Zambia old and African big national parks called the Kafue with fantastic diversity of wildlife its also a great destination for clients who wants to extend their Zambian safari tour to experience one of the natural wonders of the world and try numerous adventure activities.

Brief notes about Kafue National Park
Found in the centre of western Zambia, Kafue National Park is the oldest and largest of Zambia’s national parks. It covers a massive 22,400 km2.
First established as a National Park in the 1950’s by the legendary Norman Carr, Kafue is one of the largest national parks in the whole of Africa. Despite its size and prominent location only two hours drive from Livingstone, it remains little-known and largely unexplored with vast tracts of its virgin bush still untouched. Thanks to its size and variety of habitat types the Kafue holds a fantastic diversity of wildlife.
In recent years the Park has seen a well-managed growth in the number of Safari Camps and Lodges that operate in and around the Park. This new interest has brought with it more visitors and investment to the area, notably in infrastructure with a number of well-graded roads and airstrips.
As a consequence of the increasing interest and benefits in terms of investment this brings, the wildlife is beginning to enjoy an increased level of protection by the Zambian Wildlife Authority (ZAWA), always aided and supported by the operators in and adjoining the park.

Day 1 to Day 4 - Mu-Fungata Safari Lodge, Kafue National Park

Set in an area of the Kafue national park (GMA) area is mu-Fungata Safari Lodge offering a magnificent safari experience in the heart of the Zambian bush. The lodge is set in an exquisitely secluded part of Mumbwa GMA with its comfortable accommodation blending in with nature. The backdrop of granite rocks and panorama views across the river to the park are stunning and not to be missed.
The lodge has been renovated with a lot of consideration thus not to affect the wild environment, good taste and an extraordinary sense for detail to make you feel at home.
Deep in Zambia lies one of the largest game parks in Africa, on the banks of the Kafue river, A place where hippos and crocodiles rule the water. Lions the land and fish eagle the sky. Here you will experience true wildlife by game-viewing, birding and fishing at Mu-Fungata Safari Lodge.
In this exquisitely secluded wilderness of the Kafue national park (GMA) is Mu-Fungata, a rustic yet comfortable Safari lodge, designed to blend in with its extraordinary natural surroundings. The swimming pool is set near the entertainment area which overlooks the natural water pond.
This massive reserve is found in the west of Zambia and is a destination not to be missed by any tourist wanting a true African safari experience will find many different species of buck, buffalo, and wildebeest in the park and in the GMA.

The sighting of the big game cats such as lion, cheetah and the illusive leopard is not to be missed. There are 490 different species of birds for bird-watching enthusiasts. We have four standard rooms which are comfortably designed with local African touches.
Awaken by the sounds of the bush and smell the fresh start of a new day in unspoiled wilderness.
Each chalet is well ventilated with large windows and high ceilings and decorated to create an African feel, and suite features include en-suite bathroom or indoor shower.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Transfer from Lusaka to Mu - Fungata in Kafue National Park

  Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport, meet and greet by our driver, he will assist you with luggage, pick you up and transfer you to Mu-Fungata in Kafue National Park, it’s about 4hours 30min drive through the settlement of Mumbwa which gives a guest an experience to interact with the local people on the way. Clients are welcome to ask the driver to stop and ask questions.
  Depending on your arrival time, you will go out for the Night game drive and return to the later lodge later on in time for dinner and bed time.

  • Meals & Drinks Dinner
• Day 2 : Mu - Fungata Lodge in Kafue National Park

  Morning breakfast and then you will go out for morning game drive around 6:30 AM which last for between 4-6 HRS and then you will return to the lodge for lunch and free time. During your free time you also have optional activities that you can do such as walking safari or another afternoon game drove or bird watch. Please let us know if you would like us to include an optional activity.

• Day 3 : Mu - Fungata Lodge in Kafue National Park

  Breakfast in the morning and then you will either go out for the morning game drive or walking safari then later you will return to the lodge for lunch. Free time and then in afternoon you will go for a koppie visit – Koppie is the Rock high up that you can see the whole area with great sunsets. Then return to the lodge for dinner and bed.

• Day 4 : Transfer from Mu - Fungata Safari Lodge, Kafue National Park to Lusaka

  Morning Breakfast and depending on the schedule of your flight out of Lusaka, the driver will pick you either after breakfast or lunch and transfer you to Lusaka International Airport in time for your flight.
