Embark on an unforgettable adventure through the Tanzanian wilderness, where you’ll experience the open road at its best. This private, mid-range budget safari takes you on a comprehensive journey to Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti, all while traveling in a 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for optimal wildlife viewing. Departing and concluding in Arusha, this trip offers a swift yet immersive exploration of some of Tanzania’s most iconic destinations.
Day 1 : Arusha - Tarangire national park
Arusha, known as the safari capital of Tanzania, is a vibrant, tourism-driven city. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your driver-guide at either Arusha or Arusha Airport. Together, you’ll embark on your transfer to Tarangire National Park to begin your private safari game drive. The park gets its name from the Tarangire River, which flows through it and serves as the primary water source for the region’s wildlife.
This tranquil park is renowned for its elephant migrations, abundant birdlife, and authentic safari ambiance. Enjoy a packed lunch during the day, and after an exciting afternoon game drive, you’ll head to Africa Safari Lake Manyara. Upon arrival, you’ll have time to refresh before enjoying a delicious dinner under the stars, followed by a restful night in one of our comfortable canvas accommodations.
Day 2 : Ngorongoro crater
Be sure to rise early today to ensure a timely descent into the renowned Ngorongoro Crater. As you enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you’ll be awestruck by the surrounding beauty, which intensifies as you reach the crater’s edge and gaze upon one of the world’s Natural Wonders. The crater, formed millions of years ago by an extinct volcano, spans 20 square kilometers and is the largest unbroken volcanic caldera on Earth.
Thanks to its natural boundaries, the wildlife in the crater is remarkable. Home to the Big Five, it also offers a rare opportunity to spot the elusive black rhino. With hyenas, zebras, buffaloes, and elephants roaming its vast floor, the crater provides an exceptional setting for an unforgettable safari experience. After an exciting afternoon of exploration, you’ll head to your next lodge for a well-deserved night of rest.
Day 3 : Northern Serengeti national park
Today, you’ll embark on a rewarding drive from Ndutu in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park. Your journey will take you through the Maasai homeland, where the Maasai people—the only tribe permitted to live within the Conservation Area—maintain their traditional nomadic lifestyle. Known for their vibrant, colorful robes, the Maasai can often be seen herding cattle, living in harmony with nature and drawing on generations of knowledge about plants and survival.
As you travel, you'll have the chance to spot wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, and other animals along the way. Your route will lead you to the northern section of the Serengeti, a more remote area with fewer visitors, ensuring a more exclusive and tranquil safari experience. After a day of exploration, you’ll exit the park and settle in for the night at Africa Safari Maasai Boma, where you’ll stay in a modern interpretation of a traditional Maasai boma, blending authentic style with comfort.
Day 4 : Serengeti national park
Today, you’ll enjoy a full day of game driving in the iconic Serengeti National Park. Throughout the day, you'll explore the area surrounding one of nature's most remarkable phenomena—the annual migration crossing. Depending on the timing of your visit and rainfall patterns, you may have the incredible opportunity to witness this awe-inspiring spectacle.
As you traverse the vast, river-fed landscape, you'll encounter an abundance of wildlife. The Serengeti is home to large herds of giraffes, hippos, elands, and elephants, and you're likely to cross paths with these majestic creatures as you explore the park’s diverse ecosystems. It's a day filled with unforgettable sights in one of Africa’s most renowned wildlife sanctuaries.
Day 5 : Serengeti to Arusha by flight
After breakfast, you’ll embark on your final game drive in Serengeti National Park. Following this memorable adventure, your vehicle will take you to the Seronera Airstrip for your afternoon flight back to Arusha. As you board the aircraft, your journey is nearing its end, but the views remain breathtaking. From the plane, you'll have the chance to gaze out over the wings and enjoy panoramic vistas of the Serengeti’s vast plains and the stunning landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Upon landing at Arusha Airport, your unforgettable safari experience comes to a close.
