Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Day 1 Arusha - Ndutu Area Southern Serengeti

Arusha - Ndutu Area Southern Serengeti
You will be picked up from Arusha at 7:30 am, then depart to the Ndutu area in Serengeti South. Enjoy a full-day game drive viewing the great wildebeest migration. During lunchtime, your driver will set and prepare the table for a full, hot meal (soup, bread rolls, main dish and a fruit salad) followed by a glass of wine or tea/coffee. In the late afternoon, we return to the camp at Ngorongoro for dinner and our overnight stay.

Explore the range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes, and the world-famous Serengeti short grassplains. See great herds of wildebeest and zebra. During a short time frame around February, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calve. The sea of grass provides little cover and the young are easy pickings for a variety of predators. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd.

Breakfast at the camp is followed by a game drive in the Ndutu area, exploring the grassy plains and woodlands in the area. Track the massive herds of wildebeest and zebra, and witness the birth of new calves and trailing predators such as lion, cheetah and hyena on the hunt. During lunchtime, your driver will set and prepare the table for a full, hot meal (soup, bread rolls, main dish and a fruit salad) followed by a glass of wine or tea/coffee. After lunch, we continue with the game drive and return to the camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

The Serengeti is perhaps the most famous for the migration. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebra flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June.

After breakfast at the camp, we depart from Serengeti South in Ndutu. We drive to the Seronera area in Central Serengeti. During lunchtime, your driver will set and prepare the table for a full, hot meal (soup, bread rolls, main dish and a fruit salad) followed by a glass of wine or tea/coffee. After lunch, we continue with the game drive and return to the camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the camp is followed by a game drive in Serengeti National Park searching for the big cats as well as the Big Five. During lunchtime, your driver will set and prepare the table for a full, hot meal (soup, bread rolls, main dish and a fruit salad) followed by a glass of wine or tea/coffee. In the late afternoon, proceed to Ngorongoro to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Today, the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the Maasai Mara National Reserve across the border in Kenya, protect the greatest and most varied collection of terrestrial wildlife on earth and one of the last great migratory systems still intact.

Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha
After an early breakfast at the lodge, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive in the crater. During lunchtime, your driver will set and prepare the table for a full, hot meal (soup, bread rolls, main dish and a fruit salad) followed by a glass of wine or tea/coffee. After lunch, continue with the game drive. In the late afternoon, drive back to Arusha for your drop-off at the airport.

The jewel in Ngorongoro's crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20 km across, 600 m deep and 300 sq km in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of hippos, flamingos and other water birds can usually be seen here
