Day 1 : Arusha - Lake Manyara
Pick up from your Arusha hotel and depart for Lake Manyara National Park. Arrive in time for a game drive during which a fantastic array of birdlife can be seen, including flamingos that breed in the lake's alkaline waters. Beside the Park offering a spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley, there is also the fig forest which is a good place to see monkeys and some of the 350 species of birds ever recorded here. With luck, you may spot the tree-climbing lions for which the Park is famous. Dinner and overnight is at a Lodge.
Day 2 : Lake Manyara – Serengeti
After breakfast depart for the Serengeti National Park, lunch enroute, to arrive in time for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight is at the Lodge.
Day 3 : Serengeti
Morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti with a lunch and leisure break at the Camp in the mid-afternoon. The term “Serengeti” means “endless plains” in Masai language. In the Central Plains, there are carnivores like lion, leopard, hyena and cheetah. The Park is normally the scene of the annual wildebeest (and zebra) migration occurring between it and Kenya’s Masai Mara. Eagles, flamingo, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, heron, kite, pelican, crane and guinea fowl are among the birds that can be seen in the Park. Dinner is at the Lodge.
Day 4 : Serengeti – Ngorongoro
After breakfast, depart the Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area via the pre-historic site at Olduvai Gorge. The Gorge Museum has great wealth of the remains of various fauna and flora from the early man era. Lunch is en-route. Enter the Ngorongoro Crater tracking game with your guide on the crater floor. All the Big Five may be seen. Other species encountered are cheetah, grant’s and Thompson’s gazelle, common zebra, wildebeest and the spotted hyena. Flamingos may also be seen at the Crater Lake. This day will truly be an unforgettable encounter. Dinner and overnight is at a Lodge.
Day 5 : Ngorongoro – Arusha- Nairobi
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha for lunch, bypassing maize and coffee plantations in the Crater’s immediate environs. After lunch, catch an afternoon shuttle back to Nairobi arriving in the evening.
