Day 1 : Kathgodam to Pithoragarh
The journey begins at Kathgodam, with pickup services available from the Kathgodam railway station. The journey would take around 7-8 hours by drive, with the scenic view of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, India. Around 22 km, you will get to witness the Bhimtal, later on Almora the beautiful city. Bhimtal is named after the legendary mythological figure Bhima, is famous for its serene and picturesque Bhimtal Lake.
Attractions*
Jageshwar Dham Temple, as it is believed that the darshan at the temple symbolizes the beginning of the Adi Kailash Yatra.
Pithoragarh is known as “ *Mini Kashmir”* or *“Little Kashmir"* for its paradise view and it is also the largest hill town in Kumaon Division.
Day 2 : Pithoragarh to Nabi Village
In the morning after delicious breakfast, the journey will start for the next destination i.e. Gunji or Nabi. The journey would take around 7-8 hours by drive and sometimes more due to off-road and landslides. By then you can enjoy a short stop at local dhabas for refreshments and stretch legs. By the way, there will be a break at Dharchula. From Dharchula, issuing the Permit for the further process is compulsory as the destination is located on the Indo-Tibetan border. From Dharchula, you have to reach Gunji village via places like Tawaghat, Bundi, and Chelak.
Attractions*
Dharchula is characterized by stunning landscapes, with the river adding to the scenic charm.
Kali River”* is a beautiful spot you will get to witness during the journey. It's a place where the *Kali River* flows gracefully, offering a tranquil setting that captivates travellers with its natural charm and significance.
Tawaghat* two rivers Dhauliganga and Kali river confluence. A road cuts from Tawaghat to *Darma Valley* and Panchachuli Base Camp.
Malpa* , which used to be considered Pramukh Padav long ago.
Bundi village* , from where the snowy mountains and tough climbs start.
While moving up, you see a huge snow covered hill sometimes on the left and sometimes on the right. The hill is called *Namjungdung* and is the presiding deity of the people who live here, whom they consider to be a part of *Lord Shiva* .
Gunji and Nabi* are two places from where the next day's journey will be covered. Both places are at some distance. These villages offer a glimpse into the local culture and way of life.
Day 3 : Om Parvat Darshan
The journey from Nabi to Navidhang is filled with breathtaking scenery and spiritual significance. It will take around 2-3 hours to drive to reach Navidhang.
As you drive, you will be greeted with panoramic views of the snow- capped Himalayan peaks and lush green valleys. The majestic mountains provide a stunning backdrop to your journey. Along the way, you’ll cross several small rivers and streams, which add to the charm of the journey. The sound of flowing water and the sight of crystal-clear streams create a tranquil atmosphere. Keep an eye out for rare birds and animals that inhabit the area. The changing landscapes provide a visual treat for nature enthusiasts.
Attractions*
Om Parvat*, The natural snow deposition pattern on the mountain resembles the sacred ' *Om' symbol* , a sight that is considered highly auspicious by pilgrims. After taking in the holistic view of Om Parvat, you will return to your accommodation.
Day 4 : Adi Kailash Darshan
This is the most awaiting day of our Trip. The journey of Adi Kailash. With the chant *Har Har Mahadev* , the journey will start from Nabi to Jolingkong for the almighty Adi Kailash Mountain. Although it's a 2-3 hour drive, after reaching the destination you can trek for a while for a better view and the other significant locations.
Attractions*
Kuti Village*, also the last village of the Adi Kailash route.
Just in front of Kuti village, you can see a ruined fort on a small mountain, this is known as *Pandav Fort*. It is believed that Pandavas stayed here for some time with their mother *Kunti* , and the village was named Kuti after the name of *Kunti* . Even today you can see some parts of this fort here.
One of the main attractions at Jolingkong is *Parvati Kund* and *Lord shiva temple* , which holds religious significance and is considered sacred by pilgrims. The serene environment around the lake provides a perfect setting for meditation and reflection.
En route, you will witness the famous *Bheem ki Kheti,* believed to be the fields cultivated by Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers from the Indian epic Mahabharata. You will return to your accommodation by the end of the day.
Note* - Be prepared for cold weather, as temperatures can drop significantly at this altitude, especially during the night.
Day 5 : Proceed to Chakauri
you will return from Gunji to Chaukori. Enjoy the journey as you descend from the higher altitudes towards the lower foothills. A comfortable stay for proper relaxation with beautiful views of Himalayan ranges. You can take full rest and enjoy the sleep. You can also admire the unique features of *Chaukori* , which are *Tea Gardens.* The area around is rich in cultural heritage. The region is known for cultivating high-quality tea. It is also renowned for its spectacular sunrise and sunset views. You may capture the changing colors of the sky against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks.
Day 6 : Departure
It's time to say goodbye. we will depart from Chaukori in the morning to reach Kathgodam. You will reach Kathgodam by late afternoon or evening, depending on road and traffic conditions. Please ensure you have anti-nausea tablets handy for a comfortable and relaxing journey. Along the way, you'll witness the renowned *Patal Bhuvaneshwar (If time permits)*, a sacred cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Known for its intricate rock formations and spiritual significance. Your Journey ends here but beautiful memories always stay in your hearts.
