Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Trivandrum – Ashtamudi/Kollam (80 kms/02 hrs)

  Arrive Trivandrum Airport/Station, transfer to Ashtamudi/Kollam by road. Arrive and transfer to hotel. Kollam (Quilon) is one of the serene towns situated on the banks of Ashtamudi lake. Kollam is an interesting blend of rich heritage, diverse cultures and natural beauty. It is the southern gateway to the backwaters of Kerala. The place is prominent for cashew nut and spices trade. The Malayalam era is marked with the founding of Kollam in the 9th century. The later history of the town is linked with competitions of Portuguese, Dutch, and English for monopoly over Indian ocean trade routes and the goods grown in this part. Rest of the day enjoy rain from your hotel/resort. Overnight at the hotel.

• Day 2 : In Ashtamudi

  Full day at leisure to enjoy the rain in back waters. Go for a shopping trip to Kollam town which is famous for cashew nut and spices trade. Optional Ayurvedic massages – payable at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

• Day 3 : Transfer to Poovar (110km/ approx 03 hrs)

  Today morning after breakfast, checkout from hotel and depart for Poovar by road. Poovar is a place where the back water meets the Arabian Sea. Arrive and transfer to Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure; enjoy the facilities offered by hotel.

• Day 4 : In Poovar – excursion to Kanyakumari

  Today after breakfast proceed for an excursion to Kanyakumari; visit Vivekananda Memorial rock by boat (on direct payment basis), Gandhi Mandapam and temple of Goddess Kanyakumari. In the late afternoon return to Poovar.

• Day 5 : Transfer to Trivandrum airport/railway station (20kms/45 min approx)

  Today after breakfast depart for Trivandrum airport/railway station by road for onwards journey.
