  • Day 2 : Full Day Tour in Antananarivo

Wake up early in the morning for your breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, The High City is brimming with monuments and remnants of a glorious past. Whether you are a lover of culture and history, fascinated by fauna and flora, or an adventure seeker, the capital has something to satisfy you. This itinerary includes all the noteworthy sights to visit in Antananarivo, offering you the chance to delve into the history and culture of the Malagasy people.

Lemurs' Park: Lemurs Park is a lemur reserve and botanical garden situated 25 km from the center of Antananarivo on the RN 1 to Imeritsiatosika, Madagascar. It is an ideal place to discover the lemur, a unique and endearing animal that symbolizes the endemic fauna of the island. The park was established to raise public awareness about the preservation of these remarkable animals and to facilitate their reintroduction into their natural environment. Over the years, lemurs born in the park have been successfully reintroduced into the wild. The 5-hectare estate is home to 7 species of lemurs from different regions of Madagascar, as well as other representatives of Malagasy fauna and flora

Rova - Le Palais de la Reine: The Rova of Manjakamiadana, also known as the Queen's Palace, served as the official residence of Madagascar's rulers in the 19th century. Situated in Antananarivo, this historic monument was once a symbol of the island's political power. After Madagascar gained independence, the Rova no longer served a political function but became an integral part of the national heritage. It was transformed into a museum to allow visitors to explore the history and culture of Madagascar. However, on November 6, 1995, an arson attack destroyed the art collections, interiors, and roofs of the historic building.

Andafiavaratra Palace: The Andafiavaratra Museum, also known as Andafiavaratra Palace, is a historic palace located in the Andafiavaratra quarter near the Palace of Justice and the Rova (Queen’s Palace) in Antananarivo. Built in 1872 under the orders of Prime Minister Rainilaiarivony by architect Pool, this grand multistory building features stone and brick construction, a distinctive glass dome, and towers at its four corners. Tragically, a fire in 1976 destroyed the palace, along with its historical and cultural treasures. However, it was meticulously rebuilt starting in 1985 and is now open to the public as a museum. Visitors can explore artifacts salvaged from the Queen's Palace fire, as well as other historical and cultural items from Madagascar. (Not Open on Monday)

Musee de la Photographie de Madagascar: The Museum of Photography of Madagascar, located in the Haute Ville quarter of Antananarivo, is a tourist attraction that opened in 2018 in the Maison des Maires in Anjohy. The museum's primary goal is to share the history of Madagascar through rare images, preserve and enhance the photographic heritage of the Big Island, and enable the Malagasy people to connect with their photographic history. The museum houses nearly 4,500 historical photographs of Madagascar, spanning from the pre-colonial era to the country's independence in 1960. The Museum of Photography of Madagascar offers a journey through time, providing visitors with a captivating and educational exploration of Madagascar's history through rare and fascinating images.

Amboditsiry: Recently opened, the Rainilaiarivony Museum is located in Amboditsiry and is housed in the former residence of Prime Minister Rainilaiarivony. Covering more than 3 hectares, the residence was built in 1863 by Scottish architect James Cameron and has been renovated while preserving its authenticity. The museum features seven exhibition halls that present Rainilaiarivony's biography, his daily life, important official documents, as well as furniture and clothing that illustrate the lifestyle of the time.

  • Day 3 : Vohimana: Discover the fauna and flora of Vohimana

Wake up early in the morning for breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, get ready for your 1 and a half day trip to Vohimana. A trip to Vohimana typically takes 2 days. After a 4-hour drive from the capital, a 20-minute walk is required to reach the bungalows, as Vohimana is not accessible by car. Upon arrival, you will meet the local team and settle into the bungalows. In the afternoon, a brief 1 km walk along the botanical trail will lead you to a mysterious rock, waterfalls, ancient tunnels, and conclude with a swim in a natural pool.

On the second day, after breakfast, an 8 km hike through the forest will allow you to observe Indri Indri lemurs, birds, reptiles, and a variety of other animal and plant species. After the hike, lunch will be served before returning to Antananarivo.

  • Day 4 : Return back to Antananarivo and day free at leisure

After lunch, depart from Vohimana. Upon reaching Antananarivo, spend your day free at leisure exploring the local markets and eateries nearby

  • Day 5 : Half Day Visit to the Ambohimanga Sacred Hill & 4-Hours Night Tour of Antananarivo

Wake up early in the morning for your breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast get ready for your half day trip to Ambohimanga Sacred Hill.
