Meet and greet on arrival at Paro international airport, complete the immigration formalities and transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.) the capital city of Bhutan. Drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan with en-route stop at Chuzom, the confluence of Thimphu and Paro rivers. Three different style of stupas; Tibetan, Nepalese and Bhutanese adorn this confluence.
Great royal place and lovely view of the hills surrounding it. Spent a lovely winter afternoon there. Hikes to Tango Monastery & Chagri Monastery: Travel towards the northern end of Thimphu valley, you will come to the base camp of Tango Monastery which is located at about 14 km from Thimphu city.
After breakfast transfer to Punakha across Dochu La. Located at a height of 3,088m/ 10,130 ft, Dochula is a scenic location with chorten, Mani wall, and prayer flags which decorate this highest point on the road. If skies are clear, it may be possible to see the following peaks from this pass in the order left to right: Masagang (7,158m), Tsendagang (6,960m), Terigang (7,060m), Jejegangphugang (7,158 m), Kangphugang (7,170 m), Zongphugang (7, 060 m), a Table Mountain that dominates the isolated region of Lunana - finally Gangkar puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan at 7,497m. Hikking through the mesmerizing valley surrounded by the lush alpine tree towards the pictorial Talo monastery can be an astounding experience while getting an insight in the Buddhist religion of Bhutan. Evening back drive back to Paro for overnight (3H/30 minutes)
After an early breakfast, the most important plan of your tour begins. The Hike to the Taktsang Monastery. You will need to take a walk through the pine forest where you will see the beauty of nature; rarest birds flying around, animals playing on the ground, flowers and berries dangling beside you and huge trees standing by you.

Bhutan often revered as the "Land of the Thunder Dragon" or 'Druk Yul', is still regarded as one of the last "Shangri-La's" in the Himalayan region because of its remoteness, its spectacular mountain terrain, varied flora and fauna and its unique ancient Buddhist monasteries. Drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan with en-route stop at Chuzom, the confluence of Thimphu and Paro rivers. Three different style of stupas; Tibetan, Nepalese and Bhutanese adorn this confluence. On arrival in Thimphu, check-into the hotel. The capital city of Bhutan and the centre of government, religion and commerce, Thimphu is a unique city with unusual mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions.
Tashichho Dzong (Thimphu Dzong) Great royal place and lovely view of the hills surrounding it. Spent a lovely winter afternoon there.
Hikes to Tango Monastery & Chagri Monastery: Travel towards the northern end of Thimphu valley, you will come to the base camp of Tango Monastery which is located at about 14 km from Thimphu city. Starting point of this hike is from the parking lot which is the end of motor road. You will hike up to the Monastery following the zigzag trail through the forest filled with oak and pine trees as well as rhododendron flower trees which will be in full bloom during spring season. Hiking for about 40 minutes you will come to a Chorten (stupa). From here you have an excellent view of several meditation houses and the monastery straight ahead.

Afternoon visit Punakha Dzong or (Palace of Great Happiness), built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, at the junction of the Phochu and Mochu rivers. This majestic dzong served as both the religious and the administrative center of Bhutan in the past. It measures some 600 by 240 feet and has a six-story, gold-domed tower. Inside are courtyards and religious statuary that hint at the depth of history and spiritual tradition embodied here.
Later in the day excursion to Chimi Lhakhang. The Chimi Lhakhang, situated on a hillock in the centre of the valley, is also known as the temple of fertility. It is widely believed that couples who do not have children and wanting one, if they pray at this temple, they are usually blessed with a child very soon. After breakfast you can hike to talo monastery Situated on a ridge above the Punakha Valley is a serene Buddhist Monastery called Talo Sangngak Choling or Talo Monastery. Talo Monastery is an essential Drukpa Kagyu monastery of Punakha. The source of the Drukpa Lineage stems from the Primordial Buddha Vajradhara, the All-Pervading Lord of the Hundred Buddha Families. Located at a distance of 16km from Khuruthang town, a small township close by Punakha Dzong, Talo Monastery was founded by Chogtrul Jigme Singye (the 4th reincarnation of Gyalse Tenzin Ragbye). Taktsang Lhakhang (Tiger's Nest) it is one of the most famous of Bhutan's monasteries, Tiger's nest Par perched on the side of a cliff 900m above the Paro valley floor. It is said that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery and hence it is called "Tiger's Nest". Evening an exploratory walk around main street and market area. Overnight at the hotel in Paro. (Altitude 2,280m)
After a hearty breakfast, check-out from the hotel and head to Paro international airport for your onward journey.
