Package Overview

Are you looking for a place to hike with awe-inspiring views and adventurous trails? Then you can go for the Kedarkantha trek, the most popular hiking spot in Uttarakhand, at 12500 feet. So you will feel your head high up in the clouds. Most people go for this trek during the winters as you get to encounter a lot of snowfall, and every hilltop you glance upon is wrapped around with beautiful snow cover. The Kedarkantha trek lies in Uttarkashi, a district in Uttarakhand with enchanting mountains. This trek is popular because most people can complete it quickly as the trails are comfortable to walk. So even if this is your first trek and you are just a beginner, you will surely enjoy this hike.

How Can You Reach For The Kedarkantha Trek?
To begin with the Kedarkantha trek, one has to reach Sankri, which is 200km away from Dehradun. So no matter where you are, you must reach Dehradun, from where you can easily find buses and shared cabs to Sankri. Here are a few convenient commutes to travelling to Dehradun: By Road: With good road connectivity and NH7, travelling to Dehradun is comfortable no matter where you are travelling. There are also bus services and shared cab facilities available. By Air: Dehradun has a domestic airport, and many cities have a direct flight to this airport. By Train: The Dehradun Junction has good connectivity with most cities. You can board Shatabdi, Rajdhani, or Garib-rath for a convenient train journey.

What Is The Best Time To Go On A Kedarkantha Trek?
The weather is cold in this area throughout the year, but December to March gets the maximum number of tourists because of the snow-covered mountains. As the temperature is low this time, carry warm winter clothing, which is also comfortable during trekking.

Where To Start Your Kedarkantha Trek?
There are two spots from where you can start your trek to Kedarkanta- Sakari and Gaichwan Gaon. To make this journey comfortable and exciting for you, we are sharing a complete itinerary for both locations.

HOW BornFreeTreks IS MAKING YOUR TREK SAFE
BornFreeTreks has always been at the forefront in bringing in new safety practices into Indian trekking. Microspikes for walking on snow was introduced by BornFreeTreks Emergency bottled oxygen on all treks was made mandatory by BornFreeTreks. So was using pulse oxymeters to test pulse and oxygen saturation levels. Radio as safety communication device was introduced in treks by BornFreeTreks. Though not every organisation follow these systems, I am happy to see many of our competing organisations adopting these practices (fairly quickly, I must admit!).

Here then are the new safety protocols that BornFreeTreks India is bringing in.

ON-TREK SAFETY CHECKS
