Day 1 : Madurai to Rameswaram

Arrive in Madurai, where an agent’s representative will receive you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Your day is at leisure and you can spend it as per your desires exploring this temple city. You can visit St. Mary’s Cathedral, a 20th century neo-Gothic construction, which is an architectural delight. Or, you can also explore the Nagamalai, Yanaimalai, and Samanar Malai mountain ranges on the outskirts of the city. Besides, the historical and cultural significance of these ranges, they also offer splendid views of the city. Come back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep.

Day 2 : Rameswaram Sightseeing

Relish a hearty breakfast and gear up for local sightseeing. Your first stop for the day is the Meenakshi Amman Temple, said to have been built in 6th century BC. Among the most revered temples in India, the Meenakshi temple attracts about 15,000 visitors everyday. After paying homage, proceed to Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple, a rock cut temple which is believed to have been built by the Pandyas during the 6th century. Next up, visit Thirumalai Nayak Palace, the regal palace of the Nayaks of Madurai which will give you a deeper understanding of the local history. Also visit Gandhi Museum and Alagar Kovil.

Day 3 : Rameswaram to Kanyakumari

Enjoy a hearty breakfast and proceed for your transfer to Rameshwaram. Complete the check-in formalities and gear up for local sightseeing. Your first stop for the day is the Ramanathaswamy Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples and is known for its grandiose architecture. The itinerary also includes visit to the Ram Jharokha Temple and Agnitheertham. Next, visit the Adam’s Bridge or Rama Setu, a chain of limestone shoals between Pamban Island and Mannar Island.
