Flores is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands with an estimated area of 14,300 square km with a population of nearly 1.9 million. The island is located east of Sumbawa and Komodo and west of Lembata and Alor Archipelago.To the southeast is Timor, to the south acroos Sumba strait is Sumba in the north beyond Flores sea is Sulawesi.
The west coast of Flores is one of the few places where the Komodo dragon can be found in the wild, part of the Komodo National Park a UNESCO world heritage site
The Kelimutu National Park is the second national park designated on Flores to protect endangered species.
There are many languages spoken on the island of Flores all of them belonging to the Austronesian family.There is what is variously called the Central Flores Dialect chain or the Central Flores Linkage. The people of Flores are almost entirely Roman Catholic Christians whereas most other Indonesians are Muslim.
There are snorkling and diving locations along the north coast of Flores. Labuan Bajo (western tip of Flores) attracts scuba divers as whale sharks inhabit the waters around Labuanbajo.
Special hot-spot is Kelimutu a volcano containing three colored lakes in the district of Ende close to the town of Moni.These crater lakes are fed by a volcanic gas source resulting in highly acidic water.The colored lakes change colors oin an irregular basis depending oin the oxidation state of the lake from brighrt red through green and blue
Day 1 :
Upon arrival in Ende meet and greet with our Tour Guide and driving directly to Moni. Visit Detusoko area to see the amazing terrace rice field where it’s setting on the slope.
Day 2 :
It’s worth experience witnessing the sun rise at Kelimutu three colored crater lakes. You will begin your day very early in the morning while some villagers already woke up. Once you arrive in Kelimutu volcano you will find yourself something like nowhere – incomparable with known told stories – photos or even moving pictures you have seen before. After admiring the nature wonder , drive to Bajawa. On the way you will experience the dramatic change in both nature pattern and ethnicity. You could be found yourself in the Lio ethnic’s environment – witnessing their daily life, get closer look into their work of architectures. Afternoon, drive to Bajawa with Stop at Penggajawa BLUE stone beach, here you could see local woman collect the stones to sell..
Day 3 :
Early Morning you driving to Wawomudah crater lake, ex volcanic eruption in Central Flores created a massive crater, afterwards, Exploring the traditional village of Bajawa tribes. You will Visit Bena – a megalithic village where people do preserve their ancestral spirits believed and way of life, which can be seen in their “Ngadhu” and “Bhaga”. Ngadhu and Bhaga are conical thatched roof huts symbolized their Male and Female ancestral spirits. On the way stop on the slope of Inerie active volcano for taking pictures. then continue overland to Ruteng. Small city which situated in the highland…stops will be made at Aimere village see “arak” distillation and fresh palm juice tapping including stop at “Ranamese” Lake, and snapshot at magnificent peak of Mt. Inerie – an active volcano. Afternoon visit “Liang Bua” the home of HOMO FLORENSIES.
Day 4 :
Breakfast at hotel. Driving to Labuan Bajo – the Western tip of Flores Island. On the way stops will be made at Lembor or Cancar area to see the unexposed world wonder “Lingko” – The spider web shape rice fields. It’s probably the only such a rice field ever exist on earth. Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo, directly boating about 2,5 hours to reach the island, upon arrival you will start your trekking, walking through the typical dry forest to explore the Island of Komodo dragon, you will find not just the Dragons but also many wild animals like, deer, wild buffalo, long-tailed macaque and wild pig also numerous of birds. Keep your eyes look up as sometime you will find the young Komodo dragons on the trees. A local ranger will lead you through this natural preservation. Late afternoon sailing directly to Kalong Island nearby Komodo Island, to see the hundreds of fling foxes set out from the mangrove tree at 06-07pm.
Day 5 :
Today, you will continue boating to Loh Liang – the Ranger station in Komodo Island. Passing through some small islands, it will be about 2,5 hours to reach the pier of komodo island. Upon arrival you will start to have basic trekking to hunt GIANT RIZARD / KOMODO DRAGON and other wild animals as: Timor deer, wild pig, wild chicken and many variously of tropical bird. Please keep your look at any directions as sometimes you will also find young Komodo dragon hanging over the trees. A local ranger will be led you during the trek. Return to the boat on to Pink beach for snorkeling, swimming and relaxing. Spectacular and unspoiled coral reef and many color fish. Late in the afternoon back to Labuan Bajo for overnight.
Day 6 :
After breakfast, taking short city sightseeing with visiting the Batu Cermin (Mirror Stone) Cave. The grotto is 75 by 75 meters large, and contains stalactites and stalagmites. Some tunnels are narrow and dark but in others sunlight falls. Then local market before taking you to the airport for flight to Denpasar.
