The upper Himalayas in Garhwal Uttarakhand are unexplored but boast of most scenic locations of Auli, considered as the best winter destination and Skiing slopes, Badrinath, one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimages and Chopta, region of meadows and evergreen forest area. This entire region falls in the Trans Himalayan belt and known for lofty mountain peaks, lush greenery and serene surroundings. During winter from November till March these places are snow covered. The region gets heavy snowfall during winter months from November till March and is pleasant during the rest of the months.

This tour begins at Rishikesh and ends at Haridwar. The route to Auli from Rishikesh is an uphill drive of about 280 Kms, the entire route is along holy Rivers like Ganges,Alaknanda, Mandakini, Pinder and you drive past the Panch Prayag Devprayag – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Karanprayag, Nandprayag, Vishnuprayag and Joshimath. Further from Auli you visit Badrinath Dham which is a popular pilgrimage town and must visit Mana Village to have tea at the last Indian tea stall. The return travel is equally exciting as you visit high altitude grassland at Chopta and small town of Ukhimath.

Auli, also known as Auli Bugyal is considered as an amazing hill station and important ski destination located at an elevation of 2,500 metres to 3,050 metres in the Himalayan Mountains of Uttarakhand. This small hill town is bordered by coniferous and oak forests and is blessed with breathtaking views of mountain ranges like Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat and Kamet. Auli also boasts the Asia's longest cable car - stretching to a distance of 4 km and Chair Lift and a Ski-Lift which takes people to higher slopes is the key attraction.
Chopta, the Mini Switzerland also a part of kedarnath wildlife sanctuary is a beautiful hill station and a superb trekking destination in Uttarakhand. It’s the base for various trekking destinations like Tungnath, Chandrashila and is the epicenter of all Panch Kedars (famous Shiva Temples). The entire region is surrounded by meadows, evergreen forest, gurgling waterfalls, abundance wildlife and with the spectacular views of mighty Himalayan ranges.
Badrinath along with Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath form the Chota Char Dham, one of the important pilgrimages for Hindus cradled in the Nar-Narayan mountain ranges of Uttarakhand. The temple is located along the banks of Alaknanda River at an elevation of 3,133 meters and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped as Badrinath. The temple remains covered in snow for over six months and during this period the deity is shifted to Joshimath. There are many attractions like Tapt Kund, a group of hot sulphur springs just below the temple, Mana village, better known as the ‘last Indian village is about 3 Kms from the temple along with other attractions like Vasudhara Falls, Bhim Pul and Vyas Gufa. Badrinath is also the getaway to trek to Satopanth Lake.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival Rishikesh

  The journey begins as we arrive at Jollygrant Airport, on arrival we meet the host and start the road journey to Rishikesh which is 30 Kms from the Airport and takes about 1 hour. On arrival you get over with the check-in formalities, relax for sometime and then visit Laxman Jhoola, Ram Jhoola, Tapovan, Triveni Ghat and attend Ganga aarti in the evening at Parmarth Niketan. Stay overnight in Rishikesh.

• Day 2 : Rishikesh to Auli

  Its a long drive to Auli today, we start our journey early and take the uphill drive going past the Panch Prayags (Confluence of Rivers) Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karanprayag, Nandprayag & Vishnuprayag. The entire route is along the holy rivers and high mountains of Uttarakhand. Reach Joshimath from where Auli is just 16 Kms. On arrival you get over with the check-in formalities and relax for rest of the day in the alloted room. Stay overnight in Auli.

• Day 3 : Auli-Badrinath - Mana Village - Auli

  Visit Badrinath Dham today which is about 50 Kms from Auli, On arrival at Badrinath visit the temple and then go further to explore Mana Village, walk around and have tea at the last Indian Tea shop. Return back to Auli by afternoon. Later enjoy the amazing vies of the mighty Himalayas from Auli. Take the cable car ride in Auli and relax for rest of the day. Stay overnight in Auli.

• Day 4 : Auli - Chopta

  Today we drive back from Auli and take a detour from Chamoli towards Gopeshwar and head towards Chopta also known as “Mini Switzerland“as its surrounded by dense forest, and offers majestic view of Snow Clad Himalayan Ranges and lush green meadows. It is also the starting point of the trek to famous Tungnath Mandir (Panch Kedar Temple) and Chandrashila Summit. We would require another day to visit Tunganath and the same is on request. Stay overnight in Chopta.

• Day 5 : Chopta-Rishikesh-Haridwar

  Its time to return back today. We start up early, visit Omkareshwar Temple which houses the deities of Kedarnath and Madmaheshwar during winters and drive along holy rivers of Uttarakhand to reach Haridwar while passing towns of Rudraprayag, Devprayag and Rishikesh. On arrival we get over with the check-in formalities and later visit Bara Bazar and attend Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri in the evening. Stay overnight at Haridwar.

• Day 6 : Haridwar local – Departure

  Today we visit Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi temple and later checkout and take the onward journey.
