Day 1 : Paro - Thimphu
Arrival at Paro and drive to Thimphu (55km-1½hours). Upon arrival at Thimphu, visit Memorial Stupa built in 1974 in the memory of Bhutan‘s third King, His Late Majesty, King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Next visit, Changangkha Lhakhang built in 13th century by the illustrious Lam Phajo Dugom Zhigpo. Later visit, Sangay Gang the best place for photographers. On the way back we will visit the Takin Conservation Centre, the national animal of Bhutan. In the evening visit Trashi chhodzong the “fortress of the glorious religion” Tashichhodzong houses some ministries, His Majesty’s secretariat, and the central monk body.
Day 2 : Thimphu - Punakha
Thimphu to Punakha (70km-3hours). After breakfast we will drive to Punakha the former capital of Bhutan via Dochhula pass (3140m). Proceed to Chimi Lhakhang a temple dedicated to the Devine Madman and a sacred place where people pray for children. Upon reaching punakha, visit Punakha Dzong a very beautiful Bhutanese architecture armed by the Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River) rivers, built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the unifier of Bhutan Which houses some rich Buddhist collections.
Later in the evening, short walk via the valley of Punakha to take a sight of valley from higher ground.
Day 3 : Punakha - Phobjikha
Punakha to Phobjikha (70km-3Hours). After breakfast you will drive to Phobjikha a beautiful home for endangered Black Necked crane, situated at an altitude of 3000m. Upon arrival visit Gangtey Monastery the largest and the only monastery of the Nyingmapa sect in western Bhutan. Later visit, Crane Information Centre which gives all the information about birds. Then make a hike to Crane valley Hike provides the tourist with a glimpse of marshy land and is the winter home of the rare.endangered species i.e., Black Necked Crane which migrated all the way from the Tibet.
Later in the evening, visit to the farm house for dinner. Farm house is designed in such a way to give maximum Bhutanese culture experience to the visitors.
Day 4 : Phobjikha - Paro
Phobjikha to Paro (195km-7½hours). Today is a day long journey of about 7½hours drive to Paro. On the way you make take rest. Upon arrival, check in hotel and go for rest to take another exciting hike next day
Day 5 : Hike to Taktshang
Hike to Taktshang (Distance 3-4Hours round trip) .Today after breakfast you will hike to one of the most sacred site named Taktshang (Tiger’s nest). “Trip to Bhutan is never complete without climbing to Taktsang”, says one tourist. Indeed it.
