Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : ARUSHA/MOSHI – MACHAME CAMP.

  Distance covered 18kms
  Climbing Duration 5 - 7 hours
  Elevation 3100metres
  Pick up from your Hotel in Arusha or Moshi and be introduced to your guide, porters and cook before transfer to Machame gate. You will pass through the villages located on the slopes to the gate for registration. Commence the walk from the gate through a rain forest which may be wet and muddy. Its recommended to make use of the Gaiters and trekking poles as sometimes the ground is slippery. Arrive at Machame camp for Dinner and overnight.

• Day 2 : MACHAME CAMP – SHIRA CAMP.

  Distance covered 9kms
  Climbing Duration 4 - 6 hours
  Elevation 3840metres
  Share breakfast with your climbing team as the guide brief you of the day route and climbing. Leave for the 9 kms walking through steep rocky ridges and crossing the little valleys to Shira Camp for Dinner and overnight.

• Day 3 : SHIRA CAMP – LAVA TOWER – BARRANCO CAMP.

  Distance covered 15kms
  Climbing Duration 6 - 8 hours
  Elevation 3840metres – 4630metres – 3840metres
  Today climbing takes up and down again to the same 3840 metres, the day is very important as it will help you to acclimatize and prepare for the summit. Start immediately after breakfast and walk east up a ridge passing the junction of Kibo peak, continue and the direction will change to south east to Lava Tower known as the “Sharks’s Tooth”.
  Proceed passing the second Junction to Arrow Glacier at an attitude of 4876 m which will be the highest of the day then descend to Barranco huts for Dinner and overnight.

• Day 4 : BARRANCO HUTS – BARAFU HUTS.

  Distance covered 13kms
  Climbing Duration 8 hours
  Elevation 4600metres
  Today climbing will complete the south circuit which offers the view of the summit in many different angles. Leave barracco huts immediately after breakfast and walk on a steep ridge up the barranco wall via Karanga Valley and the junction which connect to Mweka Trial. We will arrive at Barafu huts for Dinner and overnight as we prepare for the summit early in the Morning of day five.

• Day 5 : BARAFU HUTS – SUMMIT –MWEKA HUTS

  Distance covered 30kms { 7kms up and down 23kms
  Climbing Duration 15 - 16 hours
  Elevation 4600metres – 5895metres – 3100metres
  We will have the challenging part of our trekking, making a rest at some point and continuing to the peak. Early in the morning we will walk our way to summit, following the northwesterly direction and ascend via heavy scree to Stella Point on the crater Rim. Here you will encounter snow all the way to Summit which is the highest point in whole Africa. Take amazing photos as you enjoy amazing views in all the directions. Later descend to Barafu huts for Lucnch and continue further to Mweka Huts for Dinner and overnight.

• Day 6 : MWEKA HUTS – MOSHI/ARUSHA.

  Distance covered 15kms
  Climbing Duration 4 - 5 hours
  Today we have our final day in Mt. Kilimanjaro and we will start immediately after breakfast at Mweka Huts, descend the final part of the mountain which my be muddy and slippery to Mweka Gate, Get your certificate of Achievement and continue to Mweka Village where you will connect your transport to Moshi or Arusha.
