This extended itinerary provides an extra day for acclimatization, increasing your chances of a successful summit. Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Machame Gate to Machame Camp

  Elevation: 1,640 meters (5,380 feet) to 2,835 meters (9,300 feet)
  Distance: 11 km (7 miles)
  Hiking Time: 5-7 hours
  Habitat: Rainforest
  Description: Begin your trek at Machame Gate. After registration, hike through the lush rainforest, where you may see colobus monkeys and other wildlife. Arrive at Machame Camp in the late afternoon.

  Description: Leave the rainforest and continue up a steep ridge, entering the moorland zone. Enjoy views of the Shira Plateau and Kibo Peak. Reach Shira Camp by mid-afternoon.
