Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : NJP Railway Station to Gangtok. (4 hrs 16 min - 121.1 km)

  North East India welcomes you with open arms. On the first day of this amazing Gangtok Pelling Darjeeling tour, you will arrive at new Jalpaiguri railway station or Bagdogra Airport and head straight to Gangtok. Perched at a height of 1437 meters, this town is a traveller’s paradise. On arrival, check-in at the hotel room and relax. The rest of the day will be at leisure.

  Tsomgo Lake
  Visit the Tsomgo Lake that is rested on an elevation of 12,400 feet above sea level. Owing to the temple built alongside the shore, it is considered to be sacred among the locals. The lake surface also reflects different colours with a change in the seasons.
  
  Baba Harbhajan Mandir
  The Baba Harbhajan Mandir which is perched at a height of 13,200 feet is a shrine of an Indian soldier who is alleged to be serving the nation even after his death. The national anthem is played here in every half an hour and it is mandatory to visit this memorial for every Indian Army personnel.

• Day 3 : Transfer from Gangtok – Pelling (120 km / 5.5 Hours Drive Approximately)

  On the third of your Darjeeling Gangtok Pelling tour, munch on some delicious breakfast and check out from the hotel in Gangtok. Head out for some sightseeing on your way before you reach the picturesque town of Pelling.
  
  Namchi Char Dham Temple
  A small detour on the way will take you to the Namchi Char Dham Temple. It is a religious and cultural center where the main temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that visiting this place bears away one’s sins.
  
  Samdruptse Statue
  The Samdruptse Statue is set on a hill at a height of 7000 feet and a giant statue of Sikkim’s patron Saint Guru Padmasambhava is erected here. It is believed that the mountain is a sleeping volcano and only prayers can hold it from erupting. What adds importance is that the foundation stone for the statue was laid by the Dalai Lama.
  After the sightseeing expedition, proceed towards Pelling. On arrival, check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.

• Day 4 : Full Day Local Sightseeing in Pelling

  Give another early start to the day with some toothsome breakfast and prepare for local sightseeing in Pelling.
  
  Darap Valley
  First, head to the Darap Valley. This little hamlet makes for a perfect picnic spot and you can interact with the locals to experience the life and cuisine of the people of Sikkim.
  
  Rimbi Waterfalls and Kanchenjunga Waterfalls
  These perennial waterfalls provide refreshment to the mind, body and soul and are one of the major tourist attractions of the town. They are also a major spot for recreational activities like fishing.
  
  Rock Garden and Khecheopalri Lake
  Then, move ahead and visit the Rock Garden and the Khecheopalri Lake. The Rock Garden is studded with gardens and pools and you must take a walk on its meandering footpaths. The Khecheopalri Lake, on another hand, is presumed to be one of the most sacred lakes in Pelling. It is placid, picturesque and a clean water body which is set amidst a thick bushy forest.
  
  Rabdentse Ruins
  Later head to The Rabdentse ruins that speak volumes about Sikkim’s glorious past. It is a must-see site for archaeological and history lovers.
  
  Pema Yangtse Monastery
  The Pema Yangtse is at a walking distance from Rabdentse ruins and offers splendid views of the Kanchenjunga ranges.
  
  Helipad Ground
  The Helipad ground is also another popular viewing spot to behold the splendid views of the snowcapped ranges. The view of the sunset here is like something you must have never witnessed.

• Day 5 : Transfer from Pelling – Darjeeling (75 km / 3.5 Hours Drive Approximately)

  Enjoy a toothsome breakfast post which, prepare for check out from the hotel in Pelling. Transfers to Darjeeling will be arranged for and you will embark on a road trip that is filled with loving summer sound of cigales and spectacular panoramic views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Let the eagerness build up, as you travel through the hilly roads.
  On arrival in Darjeeling, check in at the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your own will.
  Spend the overnight relaxing in the comfort of the cosy hotel room.

• Day 6 : Full day Local Sightseeing in Darjeeling

  Tiger Hill
  Start your day early as today you will drive to the Tiger Hill at 4 a.m. After reaching at a height of 2590 meters, you will witness the most spectacular sunrise and the sun’s rays will fill the dark sky and levitate over the third highest peak in the world, Mt. Kanchenjunga.Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop
  As you make your way back down, make a quick visit to the Ghoom Monastery and enjoy the scenic views of the Batasia Loop. The unparalleled natural beauty amidst which the monastery is nestled is a wonderful sight to behold. The Batasia Loop is unarguably one of the most picturesque train routes in all of Darjeeling.
  On arriving at the hotel, gulp a healthy breakfast and head out for some more sightseeing.
  
  Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
  Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. Its aim is to promote and encourage mountaineering amongst the youth of the country.
  
  Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park
  Also, visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday). It is home to an array of species and Himalayan animals.
  
  Tenzing Rock
  Then, head to the Tenzing Rock, which is a very famous rock-climbing site among people who love to seek adventure.
  
  Japanese Temple and the Peace Pagoda
  On your way to the Japanese Temple and the Peace Pagoda, enjoy an outer view of the Chitrey Tea Garden, which is the home ground for Darjeeling’s aromatic tea. Feel the divine peace at the temple and pagoda and catch the panoramic views of the landscape and Kanchenjunga range from the top of the pagoda.
  
  Chowrasta and Mall Road
  Then, go to Chowrasta and Mall Road for an evening stroll. Both these are well-known market areas and you can shop for items made from bamboo and cane, pottery stuff, hand-stitched jackets and woven shawls etc.
  Overnight stay at the hotel.

• Day 7 : Departure from Darjeeling to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. (2 hrs 30 minutes – 68 km)
