Day 1 : Nairobi - Samburu National Park
In the morning, you will be collected to depart Nairobi for Samburu National Reserve arriving in time for lunch. The Samburu Game Reserve is situated in the Northern Province of Kenya. It is rugged and a semi-desert. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at a Samburu lodge.
Day 2 : Samburu National Park
Full day of game viewing drives in this dry semi-arid park with its striking background view of the Mathew's Range. The gently flowing Uaso Nyiro River which traverses this Park provides evergreen vegetation for the rare gerenuk, Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe found in this park. The environment is enchanting. The river Uaso Nyiro is the lifeline and the nerve center of this Reserve and is bustling with a huge population of crocodiles. The game reserve is renowned for its rare species of animals that can only be found in this park, like-the long necked gerenuk, gravy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa onyx. The leopard is a frequent visitor in this park and most evenings it pays a courtesy call to the lodge's guests as it feeds on some bite on a tree across the river. All meals and overnight at Lodge/ Samburu Lodge.
Day 3 : Samburu National Park - Treetops
Breakfast at a lodge and depart for the tree hotel arriving at outspan hotel for lunch. Afternoon transfer to treetops lodge for floodlit game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Treetops lodge.
Day 4 : Lake Nakuru Tour
Depart treetops hotel after breakfast and leave for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its large variety birds. The park has also been enlarged, partly to set up a sanctuary for black rhino. Enjoy sundowners overlooking the lake followed by dinner. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru lodge.
Pink Lake often referred so due to it's Great masses of Flamingos in good time for lunch. Lunch at a lodge followed by full afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at Flamimgo Hill Tented lodge.
Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo's and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species - particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here.
Day 5 : Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara
Breakfast and leave for Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at a lodge.
Day 6 : Masai Mara Game Drives
An extensive morning game drive taken in the morning returning to the lodge for lunch.
Optional: This may be followed by a lazy restful afternoon by the poolside, another game drive. This part of the northern Serengeti is where the great wildebeest migration is resident and it will be possible to see huge herds of these animals covering much of the reserve.
OR
You may choose to go for a balloon safari.( optional balloon safari). Meals and overnight at a lodge.
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna - lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.
Day 7 : Masai Mara - Nairobi
Depart for Nairobi after breakfast, arriving at around 1400 hours which marks the end of your Safari.
