Meet & Greet upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport. Transfer to Phuentsholing, the Gateway of Bhutan by road from India. Phuentsholing is a thriving commercial center on the northern edge of the Indian Plains. Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.
Day 2 : PHUENTSHOLING TO THIMPHU (172km-6hrs)
Meet & Greet with your Tour Representative from India Bhutan Tours. Proceed for immigration formalities and transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.), the capital city of Bhutan. Enjoy local sightseeing on the way to Thimphu. Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 3 : THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING
Embark on an exciting journey through Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital and the residence of the royal family. Day 4 : THIMPHU TO PUNAKHA (77km-3hrs)
Embark on a picturesque journey from Thimphu to Punakha, covering 73 kilometers in approximately 3 hours. Depart after breakfast, enjoying the scenic drive through Dochula Pass en route to Punakha, situated at an altitude of 1300m/4265ft. Punakha, blessed with fertile lands from the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, showcases its natural beauty and cultural richness. Morning exploration begins with Punakha Dzong, the ‘Palace of Great Happiness,’ built in the 17th century and now serving as the winter residence for Je Khenpo, the head abbot, and a community of 1,000 monks. Afternoon ventures include a visit to the historic Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of Bhutan’s oldest, and Chimi Lhakhang, the 15th-century Temple of Fertility. Day 5 : PUNAKHA TO PARO (62km-3hrs)
Morning drive for local sightseeing. Visit Ta Dzong, once a fortified lookout tower that is now the National Museum. Then walk down the trail to visit the Rinpung Dzong, meaning “fortress of the heap of jewels”. Next, visit Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country. From there, you will be taken to Drugyal Dzong (Bhutan Victory Fort), built in 1646 to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over Tibetan invaders during the 1600s. On a clear day, you can see Mount Jumolhari, Bhutan’s second-highest mountain at 7,314 meters. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Paro.
Day 6 : Excursion to Taksang Monastery Hiking or Chele La Pass
After breakfast, drive to Chele-La-Pass (13,088 ft.) – the highest motorable road in Bhutan. Enjoy the scenic beauty and memorable landscapes from Chele-La-Pass. Return to Paro. The rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Paro.
Day 7 : PARO TO PHUENTSHOLING (170km-6hrs)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Phuentsholing. Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.
Day 8 : PHUENTSHOLING TO BAGDOGRA (170km-6hrs)
