Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival in Quito

  Upon arrival in Quito today, you will be met and transferred to the hotel for check-in. Overnight.

• Day 2 : Quito - City Tour

  Enjoy a half-day guided tour of Quito. Visit Downtown Quito and see it’s unique art and architecture. See Quito’s Colonial Quarter, known as the largest and well preserved area in South America. Continue to the Independence Plaza, which is side by side with the Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the Municipal Building and the Archbishop’s Palace. See the Temple of La Compañia de Jesus and it’s unique and wonderful gilded interior. See the Monastery of San Francisco, known as one of the great religious buildings of the New World. It’s most impressive facade and atrium leads to the Baroque interior, which was influenced with the Virgin of Quito as it’s main altar. Visit the Equatorial Monument, which marks the Middle of the World, at a O degree latitude and stand with one foot in each hemisphere. Visit the Ethnographic Museum, which shows the many Native American groups that live in Ecuador. Next to the monument there is a colonial-style town with a main square, church, restaurants and many gift shops. (NOTE THAT THIS TOUR IS AT A WALKING ALTITUDE OF 9,200 FEET AND INVOLVED CLIMBING OF STAIRS) Overnight.

  Take a full day trip to the colorful market towns of Otavalo and the surrounding areas. Return to Quito. Overnight.
