Day 1 : Arrival in Arusha
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a representative from Lion King will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha. You will be staying at the serene and picturesque Arusha Planet Lodge, a perfect retreat to unwind after your journey. Enjoy the lodge's tranquil environment, relax, and prepare for the exciting adventures that lie ahead.
Day 2 : Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, your personal safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Arusha. You'll embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park, traveling through the scenic Masai plains dotted with acacia trees. Along the way, you'll encounter vibrant Masai communities going about their daily life—walking in traditional attire, riding bicycles, herding cattle, and navigating donkey carts.
Upon arrival at Tarangire National Park, renowned for its impressive elephant herds, you'll explore diverse landscapes from the open roof of your safari jeep. Experience the seasonal swamps, savannah, and the vital Tarangire River while seeking out a range of wildlife, including zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and giraffes. Keep an eye out for lions on the hunt or leopards lounging in the trees.
After a thrilling day of game viewing, you’ll head to one of our mid-range partner lodges. Enjoy a delicious dinner in a stylish restaurant and unwind in a comfortable room, reflecting on the day’s adventures and dreaming of the wild cats that roamed the park.
Day 3 : Ngorongoro Crater
Rise early for a day of exploration! Our journey takes us to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where we'll visit the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater—one of Africa's seven natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Upon reaching the crater rim, we'll descend the steep track into the caldera, a 600-meter-deep volcanic bowl teeming with wildlife. This massive, collapsed volcano supports a remarkable array of animals, including the "Big Five," spotted hyenas, and over 500 bird species. The crater’s diverse landscapes feature grasslands, a shimmering lake, and a variety of habitats, offering exceptional wildlife viewing.
After a full day of game drives and a picnic lunch in the crater, we’ll return to your hotel in Karatu. Here, you'll enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner and an overnight stay, reflecting on the breathtaking experiences of the day.
Day 4 : Lake Manyara to Stone Town
After breakfast, we set off for Lake Manyara National Park, your final destination on this safari adventure. Located 120 kilometers west of Arusha, this compact yet diverse park is renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich wildlife. The park’s namesake, Lake Manyara, is a shallow, saltwater lake that fluctuates with the seasons, attracting thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.
As we explore the park, you'll have the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, and elephants. With some luck, you might even spot the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. Lake Manyara’s diverse environments range from open grassy plains to primate-filled woodlands and baobab-dotted cliffs, offering a unique and picturesque safari experience.
After a delightful lunch in the park, we’ll return to Arusha in the late afternoon. From there, you’ll catch your flight to Zanzibar, where a new chapter of your adventure awaits.
Day 5 : Zanzibar North Coast Explore & Relax
You’ll transfer to Nungwi, a vibrant village located at Zanzibar Island's northern tip. Once renowned as a dhow-building hub, Nungwi has evolved into a premier tourist destination, celebrated for its stunning beaches and spectacular sunsets. Here, traditional and contemporary influences blend seamlessly, creating a unique atmosphere.
Nungwi is renowned for its excellent diving and snorkeling opportunities, with popular dive sites extending along the east coast and to Mnemba Island, as well as the reefs near Tumbatu Island. The village's geographical features and tidal patterns allow for swimming at any time of day, ensuring you can always enjoy the crystal-clear waters.
In addition to water sports, you can partake in a variety of activities, including yoga sessions, cycling through picturesque surroundings, and guided tours exploring the local village.
