Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Guwahati – Cherrapunji (147 kms, 5 hrs)

  Start the journey with your arrival at the Guwahati station/airport, get greeted and straight away get transferred to Cherrapunji, It takes around 5 hours to reach Cherrapunji. On the way, drop by the Borapani Lake in the state of Meghalaya, also known as the Umiam lake, it is beautifully surrounded by Sylvan hills. On reaching Shillong we will visit the Shillong peak, located in the upper Shillong from where one can see the beauty of Shillong city under the clouds giving a perfect picturesque view of the city. After a while we head to the Elephanta falls, the water of this three steps falls comes down in flows from different levels over the fern-covered rocks and falls into the canyon down below. Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.

• Day 2 : Cherrapunji sightseeing

  After breakfast, set off for Cherrapunji, well known for receiving one of the highest rainfall in the world. Cherrapunjee is locally known as Sohra and is situated at a distance of 56 kms from Shillong. On the way is the Mawkdok Valley which is a very prominent sightseeing for tourists. Then on the way we visit the Nohsngithiang falls (Seven sister falls) which is known to be the symbol of the Unity of the Seven States of North East India. After that we head for Thangkharang Park, located just besides the KhohRamhah rock and offer a 180 degree view of the Bangladesh plains. Later than we visit the Mawsmai cave, a major crowd puller that leaves tourists spellbound. After trekking in the majestic cave we move for Eco Park, which hosts several hybrid and indigenous orchids. It also offers a breathtaking view of distant Sylhet Plains of neighboring Bangladesh. Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.

• Day 3 : Living Root Bridge Trek

  Double Decker Root Bridge, Maghalaya’s most famous root bridge can be found in the vicinity of the wettest place Cherrapunji.
  Today we will trek down to one of the miraculous place in Meghalaya, the Living Root Bridge. The bridge is situated downhill to the Village, Umshiang and can only be reached by walking down the hill. Though the journey to the bridge is exhausting but it’s worth it when you reach the place. It will take us 4-5 hours to take round trip of the bridge. After the determined journey we will head back to our hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.

• Day 4 : Cherrapunji – Mawlynnong - Dawki (85 KMS / 3 HRS)

  In the morning get ready to take explore the Mawlynnong Village.
  Mawlynnong/Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village offers picturesque natural beauty of the hills surrounding it. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. From Mawlynnong one can see the Indo-Bangladesh Border.After some time we travel for Dawki in the East Jaintia Hills, on arrival is the Umngot River where the water is crystal clear and is said to be one of the clearest river in India. The journey from Mawlynnong to Dawki is thrilling and scenic as we pass through lush green valleys and waterfalls peddling down from every corner of the hills. We will take a boat ride which is the most astonishing thing to do in Dawki. Overnight stay at Mawlynnong.

• Day 5 : Shillong sightseeing

  Today we will have a full day tour of the capital city of Meghalaya, Shillong. Today our journey comes to one of most romantic place in Shillong, the Ward’s Lake, located in the heart of the city which was build by the British councils and is a prominent hang-out place in Meghalaya. After that is the Cathedral Catholic Church which attracts thousands of devotees from around the world. Then visit the Don Bosco Museum Don, a unique venture of the Salesians of Don Bosco in North East India which showcases numerous beautiful and diverse indigenous cultures of the region, of India in particular and in communion with indigenous cultures anywhere in the world. After a comprehensive time we will shift back to our hotel for an overnight stay.

• Day 6 : Shillong - Nameri (307 Kms / 8 Hrs)

  After breakfast visit Cathedral Catholic Church.
  Shillong to Nameri, 282 Kms in 7hrs. Drive to Nameri (Alt 131Ft / 80M) & Hotel check in. Free evening. Overnight at Nameri.

• Day 7 : Nameri to Guwahati (204 Kms / 5 Hrs)

  Early in the morning get up for bird watch in the park. You can spot some unique species and rare birds in the Park. After that come back to the hotel, take your breakfast and drive to the Orchid Center at Tipi. Tipi houses over 7500 orchids. On display are some of the finest species like the Dainty Lady’s Slipper or the more formal sounding Dendrobium. Then we head back to Guwahati. Upon arrival check in the hotel. In the evening optional tour to Alfresco Cruise Ride. Overnight stay at Guwahati.

• Day 8 : Guwahati Departure

  After breakfast we will check out of the hotel and leave for Kamakhya Temple where our Meghalaya Tour comes to an end and drop you to the Airport/ Railway Station for onward journey.
