Day 1 : Arrival and City Tour in Arusha
Upon your arrival at the airport, you'll be warmly welcomed and transferred to Karibu Heritage House, your home for the night. After settling in, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Arusha with a city sightseeing tour. This engaging excursion includes visits to local markets, the Maasai market, the Cultural Heritage Centre, and the Arusha City Museum. Explore the bustling streets, discover local crafts and traditions, and gain insight into the rich history and culture of the area. Enjoy your evening at leisure at Karibu Heritage House, preparing for the exciting adventures ahead.
Day 2 : Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After a hearty breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds. As you enter the park, you'll be greeted by impressive herds of these majestic giants. Tarangire is also a prime location to spot wild cats such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as a variety of herbivores.
Your game drive will bring you close to these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. At midday, enjoy a delightful picnic lunch at the Tarangire River picnic site, where playful monkeys may entertain—or attempt to pilfer—your meal. After lunch, continue exploring the park before heading to your accommodation for the night.
Day 3 : Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, set off for Serengeti National Park, with a brief stop at Ngorongoro Crater. Here, you'll pause at a scenic viewpoint to admire the stunning panoramic views and capture memorable photographs.
Continue your journey towards Serengeti National Park, arriving in the afternoon. Enjoy a delicious lunch before embarking on an exciting evening game drive. As the day winds down, you'll settle into the Seronera Campsite for a restful night under the African sky.
Day 4 : Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, embark on a thrilling sunrise game drive across Serengeti National Park. As the sun rises, you’ll explore diverse areas of the park, adjusting your route based on recent animal movements. The Serengeti is renowned for its massive herds of wildebeests and zebras, often seen in strategic partnership for their mutual survival.
The park is also home to numerous big cats, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. With a bit of luck, you might even witness a dramatic hunting scene. Spend the day immersing yourself in the park’s rich wildlife and stunning landscapes before returning to the Seronera Campsite for an evening of relaxation and reflection.
Day 5 : Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, set out on a game drive to explore various regions of Serengeti National Park, maximizing your chances to see any wildlife you might have missed. Return to the camp for a relaxing lunch before packing up for the journey to Ngorongoro Crater.
Upon arrival, check in at the Simba Campsite, perched on the crater’s rim. Enjoy a leisurely evening with panoramic views of the crater, preparing for an exciting descent into the crater the following morning.
Day 6 : Ngorongoro Crater
Begin your day with an early breakfast before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, renowned for its rich biodiversity. Your primary goal is to spot the elusive black rhino, which is the most challenging to find in this expansive crater. The flat terrain of the crater floor typically makes it easier to spot other wildlife, including lions, elephants, and wildebeests.
After a satisfying lunch, continue your game drive within the crater before ascending back to the crater rim. From there, drive to Lake Eyasi, where you'll have the chance to unwind with a canoeing session as the sun sets, offering a serene and picturesque conclusion to your day.
Day 7 : Lake Eyasi
Explore the unique cultures surrounding Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities. Begin your day with visits to their villages, where you'll gain an intimate insight into their traditional ways of life. Experience the Hadzabe's ancient hunting and gathering practices, participate in bead-making with Datoga women, and observe or join in their vibrant traditional dances. You may even have the opportunity to craft your own bow and arrows with the Hadzabe tribesmen.
After immersing yourself in these enriching cultural experiences, you'll embark on an evening drive back to Arusha. Enjoy your overnight stay in the city, reflecting on the diverse and captivating experiences of your journey.
Day 8 : Kilimanjaro Excursion
Experience Tanzania's natural beauty and local culture with a full-day excursion to Materuni and Kikuletwa. Begin your adventure with a hike to the stunning Materuni Waterfalls, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear pools. Afterward, visit a local coffee farm to discover the intricacies of Tanzania’s coffee industry, from cultivation to roasting.
Conclude your day by relaxing in the serene Kikuletwa Hot Springs, surrounded by lush scenery. Following this rejuvenating experience, you'll be transported back to your hotel, with the evening free to unwind and reflect on the day's adventures.
Day 9 : Departure
After breakfast, you'll be picked up from your hotel at a time that suits your schedule and transferred to the airport for your onward flight. We wish you safe travels and hope you take with you cherished memories of your Tanzanian adventure.
