On your arrival at Gongar Airport, we will cordially recieve you at the airport. From the airport, the private vehicle will escort you to the to the hotel. During the drive towards Lhasa, we see a beautiful temple on the north of the highway and at its rear towards east we get to see a beautifully carved statue of Buddha. The cultural sightseeing tour of Buddha kicks off right away. We arrive to Lhasa and get transferred into our hotel. In the evening we set off to stroll the lively Barkhor Square. Witness the Tibetan culture at its best at Barkhor Square, which is the perfect place for street photography in Lhasa. Overnight in the hotel at Lhasa.
Today we begin to the cultural sightseeing tour of Lhasa. Early morning we drive to the west of Lhasa, where we explore the largest monastery in Tibet, The Deprung Monastery. Considered the most important Gelugpa Monastery, the Deprung Monastery lies in the foothills of Mt. Gambo Utse 3 miles away from the city. Deprung Monastery is famous for the Shoton festival that unveils the huge thanka of Buddha. Then we explore Ganden Monastery. One of the oldest and the largest monasteries in Tibet that sits atop the six Gelugpa temples of Tibet, Ganden monastery is 47 km far from the city.The final destination for day's cultural sightseeing tour in Lhasa after the lunch is Sera Monastery. The monastery represents the yellow hat sect of Gelugpa Tibetan Buddhism. Lying on the foothill of Tatipu Hill, the monastery has scriptures written in gold powder, extraordinary statues, and unparalleled murals that represent the sacred Gelugpa Buddhism. You can participate in the religious debate at Sera, which happen every weekdays between 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. We make sure your visit Sera Monastery on the weekdays. The sightseeing tour of Lhasa continues. Today we visit Jhokhang Temple and Potala Palace. To visit the Jokhang Temple, we walk through the busy streets of Barkhor Square. We follow the street especially designed for the visitors, where we can see lots of traditional artworks all the way to Jhokhang. UNESCO enlisted World Heritage Site under Potala Palace, Jhokhang Temple is at the center of the town. Four- storey wooden monument with the golden top, Jhokhang Temple's architectural designs represent the ones of Tang Dynasty. We will thoroughly explore this ultimate pilgrimage destination in Tibet. Then, we set off to explore the most important site in Lhasa, the majestic Potala Palace. Set atop the Red Hill at the elevation of 3765m, the Potala Palace has the religious as well as historic significance in Tibet. After the sightseeing tour of Jhokhang Temple and Potala Palace we return to our hotel. Then you have a free time to spend few hours on your. Walk around Barkhor Square, revisit the Potala Palace Region in the evening or hunt souvenirs- the choice is yours. At the end of the day, your sightseeing tour of Lhasa officially ends.
