• Day 1 : Arrive Guwahati - Shillong (120 km / approx. 3 hours drive) A short Sojourn to Meghalaya

  Welcome to your "A Short Sojourn To Meghalaya" tour! On arrival at the airport/railway station in Guwahati, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Shillong. Shillong became the first capital of the State of Meghalaya. Located in undulating pine-covered hills, the city has a milder climate than tropical India. The city centre is 1496 m above sea level and currently has a population of around 270,000. Home to several waterfalls, it is also known as the Scotland of the East. We stop to visit the Umiam Lake also known as 'Bara Pani' which is a vast and scenic reservoir surrounded by lush green hills. It is also a popular destination for water sports. On arrival, check in to the hotel in Shillong and after lunch visit- Shillong sightseeing options: 1. Ward's Lake, 2. Shillong Peak, 3. Sweet Falls, 4. Lady Hyder Park Overnight stay at Shillong. (assuming reaching Guwahati in early morning flight)

• Day 2 : Shillong - Cherrapunjee (54 km /approx. 2 hours drive)

  After a hearty breakfast, in the continuance of the Meghalaya Trip Package, you drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.) the wettest place in the world. We visit the beautiful and the tallest plunge waterfall in India known as Nohkalikai Falls. Enjoy the sight of water rushing down from 1,100 feet through the green forest into a deep waterhole which has unusually blue water like a lagoon. A short trek through some of the amazing terrain and watching a great variety of birds as we reach the entrance of Mawsmai Caves. This limestone caves have the distinction of being the only cave in Meghalaya that are lit enough to enable visitors to explore the natural formations in awe. Then, visit the Seven Sister Falls also known as 'Nohsngithiang Falls' is a seven segmented waterfall which plunges over the top of a limestone cliff. The view is spectacular which leaves one spellbound. Lastly, visit the Elephant Falls for some breathtaking views. A British officer named this falls owing to the presence of an elephant-shaped rock on one side of the falls. This rock was later destroyed due to an earthquake. At Elephanta Falls, one can get very close and enjoy its serenity. Post sightseeing, overnight Stay in Shillong.

• Day 3 : Shillong - Dawki - Mawlynnong & Live Root Bridge (120 km / approx. 3.48 hours drive )

  After a sumptuous breakfast, we proceed to Mawlynnong&Live Root Bridge or for Iwaki (Umangot) the crystal clear river and see the border of Bangladesh. We can enjoy a boat ride in the crystal clear water of the Dawki river and enjoy the beauty of nature. Overnight Stay in Shillong.

  Today after breakfast you check out from the Hotel and you are dropped at Guwahati Airport as per your scheduled timing. End of Tour.
