Package Overview

Albania and Montenegro tour in 10 days, is a blend of Albanian’s traditions, history and Montenegro’s nature beauty and historical monuments and towns. This is the best opportunity to explore the most important historical sites of Albania and Montenegro, including 6 UNESCO World heritage sites. It includes the scenic drive by the Ionian coast of Albania and the Adriatic cost of Montenegro which are two of the most beautiful coastlines of the Mediterranean sea.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 :

  Our representative will meet you at Tirana International Airport. Depending on your arrival time we may do a short city tour and info meeting at your hotel near the center of Tirana.
• Day 2 :

  In the forst part of the day we will visit Ethem Bej mosque built in 1789, and one of the most beautiful mosques in Albania.
  Next, we will drive towards the town of Durresi, the old capital of Albania, it used to be the biggest Greek colony in Ilirian territory, founded in 627bc. We will visit the Archaeological museum and explore the Roman amphitheater (II century bc) located within the walls of the fortress. Next we will drive South towards and visit the Christian Orthodox monastery (XII century) of Ardenica, which is famous for it’s wall covered with frescoes and the wooden carved altar.
  In the afternoon we will drive towards the town Vlora where we will check in our hotel, near the sea.
• Day 3 :

  We start our day with a scenic drive west towards the coast where we begin with a scenic drive along the Albanian Riviera on the Ioninan. The landscape will dramatically change as we climb up to 1100 meters above sea level, through the forest of Llogara National Park to continue our drive south through the seven villages of Himara region.   On the way to Saranda we will admire the Panormi bay and the Ali pasha castle standing next to the old submarine base and the Borshi springs. In the afternoon we will check in our hotel in Saranda, located near the sea.
• Day 4 :

  In the first part of the day we will visit Butrinti archaeological park, UNESCO World Heritage site since 1995, which started as a Greek colony founded in VII bc by the Corkyrians. (check detailed program)
  In the second part of the day we drive East, towards Gjirokastra. On the way we will visit Blue Eye natural water springs park. In the afternoon we will check in our traditional accommodation in Gjirolastra, which is located in the old historical part of the town.
• Day 5 :

  After breakfast we will visit the fortress of the old town of Gjirokastra which is an UNESCO World heritage listed town. After a walk through the bazaar we will continue our tour towards the North towards the town of Berat. On the way we will visit a local winery near Berat, one of the best in the country. Our fist visit in Berat will be in the 4th century BC castle we will admire the Byzantine era icons in the Onufri Icon Gallery, located within the old cathedral of the town. (check detailed program)
  In the afternoon we will check in our hotel in the historical part of the town of Berat which is an UNESCO World heritage listed town.
• Day 6 :

  After breakfast we we will drive to the historical town of Kruja, located North of Tirana where we will visit the old town inside the fortress (check detailed itinerary).
  After lunch in the bazaar of Kruja we will continue our drive North towards the town of Shkodra, located by the lake, where we will will check in our traditional accommodation. In the afternoon we will visit the old town of Shkodra.
• Day 7 :

  In the first part of the day we will drive towards the town of Podgorica which was known with the name Titograd when Montenegro was part of Yugoslavia.
  In the second part of the day we will drive towards Cetinje UNESCO Wolrd Heritage town, located in the mountains of Montenegro.
  After a scenic drive over the mountains we will arrive in Budva by the sea where we will visit the old town located within the walls of the Venetian fortress. In late afternoon we will drive towards Kotor where we will check in our hotel located inside the walls of the old town.
• Day 8 :

  After breakfast we meet our local guide and we explore the town of Kotor, UNESCO World heritage town. We will explore the history of this town located in the beautiful bay of Kotor which is similar to the fiords of the Scandinavian peninsula. We will wonder in the narrow stone paths within the walls built by the Venetian Republic, under the Orjen and Lovcen cliffs.
  Next will visit the old town of Perast and the well known landmark of Montenegro, the Lady of the Rock church, located in the small island in the middle of the bay of Kotor. We will spent the evening at leisure in Kotor.
• Day 9 :

  Today we drive towards Albania. Our tour will continue next to the most beautiful part of the Adriatic coast. On the way we will make a photo stop at a place overlooking Sveti Stefan, the famous resort island.
  Before crossing the borders into Albania we will stop in the historical town of Ulcinj where after lunch by the sea next to the old fortress.
  After crossing the borders into Albania we will continue towards the historical town Tirana where we will check in our hotel in late afternoon.
• Day 10 :

  After breakfast we will drive you to the airport wishing you a nice flight back home.
