Day 1 : Airport - Tirana
Our representative will be waiting for you at Nene Tereza airport, Tirana. If time permit, we can do a short city tour before or check-in at the hotel. We start with a visit at Skanderbeg Square, followed by a stop at the Mosque of Et`hem Bey, built in 1793. The Opera House (National Theatre of Opera and Ballet) which looks over the Scanderbeg Square. A walk in the main boulevard provides a close sight of the City Hall and a number of Governmental buildings. Overnight in Tirana
Day 2 : Tirana - Durres - Apollonia - Vlora
After breakfast we drive to Durres. The earlies historical reference of Durres is from 627 BCE. The modern city is build on the top of the ruins of the ancient Epidamnos, or Dyrrachios, which becaume known as Dyrrachium in Roman Period.
Day 3 : Vlora - Porto Palermo - Butrint - Saranda
This Morning with our driver we continue up to one of the best panoramic view of the Albanian Riviera that passes through Jonian Riviera. Drive along Himara coastline and stop for a refreshment. On road we make a short visit to the bay of Porto Paler.
Day 4 : Saranda - Blue eye - Gjirokastra - Berat
After breakfast we depart for Gjirokastra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On our way we make a stop and visit the “Blue Eye” spring, formed by underground springs. The beautiful town of Gjirokastra began to spread downhill from it[s castle in the 13th centery. The caste overlooks the city and the river valley below. We will also make a visit to the Ethnographic Museum. By the 17th centery the city had 2000 houses and the bayaar was constructed at this time. After Lunch (Facultative) we depart for Berat, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the country’s oldest towns with settlements dating back as far as 2000 BC, known as “Town of a Thousand Windows”, due to the many windows of the old decorated houses overlooking the city. Check-in at Hotel and evening at leisure. Overnight in Berat.
Day 5 : Berat - Durres
Berat is one of the oldest cities in Albania and one of the most attaractive. We visit the Fortress and Onufri Museum. Within the walls of the Fortress we will see how people still live, just like their ancestors did centuries ago. We visit the Onufri Iconographic Museum located in the church of St Mary inside Berat Castle. The museum houses an extraordinary collection of religious images and is named after one of the most important icon painters of the 16th century. Onufri was the gratest Albaniana icon-painter. He worked throughout the Balkans, but many of his finest icons were painted for the churches of the Berati citadel. Lunch in Berat (Facultative) and after depart to Durres. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Durres.
Day 6 : Durres - Airport
Free time followed by transfer at “Nene Tereza” airport.
