Amani Nature Reserve is covered by tropical evergreen rain forest and paradise in nature with unique flora and fauna. The Amani Nature Reserve is suitable for site seeing, hiking, camping, trekking, picnics, boating fishing and reading. Amani Nature Reserve has the largest botanic garden in Africa which was started by German in 1902 including first tree nursery in Tanganyika. The Amani Botanical Garden occupies an area of 356 hectares with about 900 different planted trees, species both indigenous and exotics from the different parts of the world.Tips

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive to Amani

Arrive to Amani so it depend where are you from, if is from Tanga town it will take you 30min to Muheza and then another 42 Kilometers to Amani Nature Reserve. We’ll have a lunch and then go around for bird watch and overnight at NIMR Rest House.
Day 2 : Amani

Eight hour tour visiting Amani tea farms, rainforest and butterfly farming and then overnight at NIMRI Rest House.
Day 3 : Amani

View points (kiganga/Ngua / Mbomole hill) and then to Water falls (derema waterfall or Ndola Waterfall) - overnight at NIMR Rest House.
Day 4 : Night Tour

Night tour to see the night’s animals and other living organisms.
