Amarnath Yatra is a magical journey to the holy cave at 14000 feet above sea level onthe Himalayas where Lord Shiva is in the form of a Lingam formed by astalagmite. Nestled in a narrow gorge at the farther end of Lidder Valley,Amarnath Cave is 140 KMs from Srinagar in the state of Jammu & Kashmir andattracts thousand of Pilgrims every year despite the hostile conditions. Here is a Pilgrim's account of this unforgettable expedition along with some travelers tips.

The most convenient way of reaching Amarnath is to reach Srinagar. Srinagar is connected to all major cities in India by flight. Take a taxi or bus from Srinagar to Baltal. This 100 Km journey will take you around 3 hours by Road. Halt overnight at Baltal. Accommodation is available at the Amarnathji Shrine Board Huts. Food is provided at the Langars nearby. The final stretch from Baltal to Amarnath Cave is 14 kmts and has to be done on foot.

There is a helicopter service also available from Baltal to Amarnath Cave and back. Ponies are the other option for the trip from Baltal to Amarnath Cave.Air Fare/Train fare.
Personal Expenses such as Laundry, telephone calls, tips. Liquor, boating & joy rides.
Any other item not specified in "Cost Includes".
Additional sightseeing or usages of vehicle not mention in the itinerary.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Srinagar airport - Sonmarg 100 Kms

On arrival meeting at the airport our representative meeting and transfer to Sonmarg which will take about 3 hrs to reach Sonmarg. Check into at Hotel and overnight at Hotel.

Day 2 : Sonmarg - Baltal - Panchtarni - Amarnath ji - Panchtarni - Baltal - Srinagar

After early breakfast short drive of 15 Kms will take you to Baltal ( Helipad) board into the helicopter and short ride to Panchtarni and from here it will take about two hours walk by foot have a darshan of Amarnath Ji and walk back to Panchtarni and board again into the Helicopter and reach Baltal. From here another 3 / 4 hrs drive will take you to Srinagar. In the evening enjoy the Shikara ride on Dal Lake the beauty that God has graced this city with which is often compared to venice. You will get a view of some very interesting places around the lake. Overnight at Houseboat/Hotel.

Day 3 : Departure

After breakfast free and transfer in time to the airport to connect onwards destination flight. Tour ends here.

Other Terms & Conditions :The entire Itinerary is under World Travel House conditions.
As per the announcement of Shrine board no child below 13 years is allowed and no adult above 75 years is allowed for the Yatra.
Medical certificate is very important to carry along with the Yatri.
In case, if there is any chance of cancellation of any services due to bad weather or technical fault of helicopter or any other reason the yatri is not able to avail any part of the services especially accommodation the Company is not responsible nor there will be any refundable amount.
Due to bad weather Helicopter flight is cancelled, next day's accommodation has to be taken care by the guest directly.
The schedule flight is cancelled due to bad weather or technical reason, advance booked passenger would get the priority next day.
A Helicopter ticket has to be stamped & signed by the Helicopter operator companies. at Baltal or Pahalagam or Srinagar for full refund.
If the Helicopter does not operate due to bad weather, technical or any other unforeseen reasons, World Travel House will not be responsible for any financial loss that may be incurred by the passengers due to this. The Helicopter operator may offer the passengers an option to travel the next day. In such cases the passengers would have to pay extra amount for the vehicle retention and will also have to pay for their hotel accommodation for extra night. Alternately the passengers may make their own arrangement for the stay in Sonmarg / Panjtarni.
In case the passenger is unable to perform the Helicopter journey due to the above mentioned reasons, they are entitled to full refund for the Helicopter fare only.
The Helicopter travel is subject to all the terms and conditions mentioned on the Helicopter ticket. Passengers are requested to read them carefully.
In case of Non availability of Helicopter tickets on Given dates, we may change yatra schedule.
In case, you fail to return on same day to Baltal, stay arrangement at Cave will be made by you.
