Day 1 : Arrival into Delhi
Upon arrival in New Delhi a friendly driver will be awaiting you to take you to the comforts of a rest after a long flight. There are no planned activities today except for a welcome meeting and dinner. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 2 : Exploring Delhi
Exploring both the "Old" and the "New" cities starting with visit the Jama Masjid — India’s largest Mosque then travel by rickshaw through Chandi Chowk, Delhi’s famous “Silver Street”. In New Delhi, we see the Qutab Minar, Gandhi’s tomb and drive through India Gate — the “Arc de Triomphe” that leads to the Indian Parliament. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 3 : Varanasi
We start today with a morning flight to the Eternal City of Varanasi. Upon arrival we check in and then have lunch. In the afternoon, we visit Sarnath, the ancient site where the Buddha gave his first sermon. In the evening we experience special ceremony with music along the Ganges River. Overnight in Varanasi.
Day 4 : Varanasi
See the sunrise on the Holy Ganges River with a morning boat trip. We will see the ghats full of activities as pilgrims have come to purify themselves and where bathing and cremations are regular activities in these sacred waters. We will explore Varanasi streets by foot with stopping a few stops to talk to the locals and experience the life in Varanasi. We will have lunch and continue to explore before we take a rickshaw to visit a ghat at aarti (prayer) time. Overnight in Varanasi.
Day 5 : Khajuraho
We take a flight to Khajuraho, a medieval city filled with intriguing temples. We explore Khajuraho’s temples (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site). We can see a sound and light show at the temple complex or attending a traditional style dance performance. Overnight in Khajuraho.
Day 6 : Orccha
Today we travel to Orccha to experience a cooking demonstration and lunch in a local home with. After lunch we say goodbye to our new found friends to walk around the temples of Orccha. We will come back to these temples in the evening to see them lite up for a whole new way of looking at them. Overnight in Orccha.
Day 7 : Agra
Today we will visit the Amermahal Palace with some time to wonder the local market before we have lunch. We continue on to Jhansi where we board a train for Agra. Upon our arrival in Agra if we have time we will visit the Itmad-Ud-Daulah Tomb, which was also known as the mini Taj Mahal. Overnight in Agra.
Day 8 : Exploring Agra
We have a full day to explore some of the most famous sights of Agra, including the Taj Mahal (UNESCO). This white marbled jewel was built over a 22-year period by Shah Jehan as a monument to his great love for his wife. Later, we visit Agra Fort (UNESCO) built by Akbar the Great, which includes the Pearl Mosque, the Palace and the Halls of Private and Public Audience. Overnight in Agra.
Day 9 : Bharatpur
This morning we will visit the ancient ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri before we continue on to Bharatpur. We will have lunch and some free time to rest before our late afternoon rickshaw ride into the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary (UNESCO) to learn about the beautiful bird life in this wonderful park. Overnight in Bharatpur.
Day 10 : Ranthambore National Park
After breakfast we jourey to the famous Ranthambore National Park in search of tigers. After lunch at the resort we will take a safari to Ranthambhore Fort, make sure you keep your eyes open as our jeeps take us insie the park we may just see the famous Tiger or even a black bear. Overnight in Ranthambore.
Day 11 : Ranthambore National Park
Today an exciting experience awaits with a morning and afternoon safari on search for wildlife including deer, crocodiles, Asian Sun Bears, leopards, monkeys and a wide variety of birds and not to mention Tiger! Overnight in Ranthambore.
Day 12 : Jaipur
We travel to the “Pink City” of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Built in 1728 this city holds many attractions for the modern-day traveler. We will visit the Jantar Mantar the largest stone astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh (UNESCO) and then the City Palace. After lunch there will be free time to explore the colourful markets. Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 13 : Exploring Jaipur
This morning we see the morning sun light up the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) before we make a grand entrance on a grand animal as we ride like the kings did into Amber Palace. Before we stop for lunch at a local restaurant we learn how the number one export of India is created with a visit to the Textile and Carpet factory before stopping for lunch. We will take a rickshaw ride around the makert before a relaxing afternoon. Tonight for those who want to learn more about the famous Bollywood, we will attend a true Hindi Bollywood movie at one of the oldest and most extraordinary cinemas in Jaipur. Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 14 : Pushkar
Today, we travel overland to the idyllic desert town of Pushkar. Situated on the edge of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, the town of Pushkar is a peaceful oasis where travelers escape the bustle of big city India. Arriving in the afternoon we will have a walk around the lake to watch the pious perform their ablutions in the holy waters. You will have free time to walk around the markets or just sit and watch life go by. Overnight in Pushkar.
Day 15 : Exploring Pushkar
Today we visit the temple of Lord Brahma, creator of the Universe in Hindu Mythology. Later we will take a walk through the streets and markets of this dessert town. In the afternoon you can take an optional walk up the many steps and well-travelled path to the Savitri Temple atop of Ratnagiri Hill. Savitri is the wife of Brahma and this temple is the home to the statue of the Goddess Savitri. Get to know the creature that made Pushkar famous while we have a camel ride as the sun sets over the desert. Overnight in Pushkar. Overnight in Pushkar.
Day 16 : Jodhpur
We continue our journey to the blue city of Jodhpur. Once the former capital of Marwar State, Jodhpur was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, who himself claimed descent from Lord Rama (the hero of the epic Ramayana). Upon arrival we will get our tickets and audio guides before we have lunch in the fort. After lunch you are free to roam the fort on your own as you learn about the cast system and the rich history of the region directly from local historians themselves. This is a truly unique experience. We will stop for a photo of the Jaswant Thada a royal cenotaph made of white marble. Overnight in Jodhpur.
Day 17 : Udaipur
On our way to Udaipur we visit the villages of Bisnois - a community of nature worshipers. We will be welcomed into a local home as well as a visit to a weaving village and learn the art of weaving. We continue our long journey to Udaipur, stopping en route to see Ranakpur Jain Temple. Overnight in Udaipur.
Day 18 : Exploring Udaipur
Set in the Girwa Valley amidst the Aravalli Hills of south Rajasthan, Udaipur is a beautiful city - regarded by Indians and foreigners alike as one of the most romantic in India. Our tour today includes the City Palace. In the afternoon we will have a walking tour of the small streets before our culture show in the evening. Overnight in Udaipur.
Day 19 : Udaipur
Today we continue our sightseeing with a visit to the Jagdish Temple and a local artist studio to see how the famous miniature paintings are created. After lunch we board a small boat and cruise on Fateh Sagar Lake to view this wonderful city from the water, including a view of the famous Lake Palace. The rest of the afternoon is free time to explore these windy streets with all its little shops. Overnight in Udaipur.
Day 20 : Delhi Cultural Experience
After breakfast we are transferred to the airport for our flight to New Delhi. Upon arrival, we are transferred to our hotel before venturing out explore the spice market then jump on a cycle rickshaw to the Sikh Temple where we will tak a tour of the kitchen where massive pots cook the free meals this temple serves on a daily basis. We will return to our cycle rickshaws and travel to a local restaurant where we will have lunch. Our bus will be waiting for us after lunch to take us to our hotel for an afternoon of leisure time before our farewell dinner. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 21 : Depart New Delhi
Today we say goodbye to this remarkable part of India. You are transferred to the airport for your international departure flight.
