Day 1 : Arrive at Leh
Arrival Leh by morning flight and transfer to the hotel.Full day for complete rest for acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft / 35 00 mtrs).Overnight in hotel.
Day 2 : Leh local sightseeing
After leisurely breakfast, visit Shey Palace, Thicksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery and Stok Palace Museum. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3 : Leh - Lamayuru - Uleytoko
In the morning drive down the Indus valley on a tour of the Lamayuru (approx. 130 kms.) circuit, famous for the dramatically located ancient Lamayuru monastery and the adjoining ‘Moonland’ features. After sightseeing and lunch here, retrace the Leh route till Uleytokpo (60 kms.) and check-in at a fixed camp / resort for overnight stay.
Day 4 : Uleytoko - Leh
After breakfast drive towards Leh, enroute visiting the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic heritage of Ladakh- a UNESCO listed heritage site. Thereafter, visit Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers), Magnetic Point, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Kali Mata (Temple of Guardians in Spituk monastery) & Hall of Fame. Overnight in hotel.
Day 5 : Leh - Nubra Valley
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt: 18,380 ft). After descending from the pass, drive on for sightseeing of Sumoor area and Samstaling Gompa. Later check into a fixed camp in the same area or drive across to Deskit / Hundar for overnight in a fixed camp or hotel.
Day 6 : Nubra Valley - Leh
In the morning visit / explore Deskit, Hundar and the Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel safari using the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on direct payment). Later drive back to Leh reaching in the late afternoon / evening. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 : Leh - Pangong Lake - Leh
Full day excursion to Pangong Lake (approx. 300 kms round trip, located on the Indo-China Border), enroute crossing the Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft.). After sightseeing around the lake, drive back to Leh, reaching in the late afternoon / evening. Overnight in hotel.
Day 8 : Leh
Free day for rest after the long journey to Pangong Lake. In the afternoon visit Shanti Stupa, Sankar Gompa, Leh Palace & the markets. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 : Leh - Tsomoriri / Korzok
Early departure for Tsomo-riri Lake (alt: 15,000 ft.) driving through Chumathang (hot springs), Mahe and Puga Sumdo. Tsomoriri Lake (28 km long & about 8 km wide) is the breeding ground of many migratory birds including the rare bar-headed geese. Dinner & overnight in fixed camp or Guest House.
Day 10 : Leh - Tsomoriri / Korzok
After breakfast retrace the route down to Puga Sumdo and then follow the road across the Polokongka Pass (4920 mtrs) to visit Tsokar Lake, a salt lake system in the Rupsho plateau which is home of the Changa nomads and support many rare wild life species. After sightseeing of the area take the Manali-Leh road to return to Leh, crossing Taglang-la (alt: 17,585ft) en- route. Overnight in hotel.
Day 11 : Departure Leh
Early morning transfer to the airport for taking the flight for onward journey.
