Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Xining - Qinghai Lake - Chabcha Town

  Morning your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel. Then you will start your trip with starting driving toward Nyisar Gongkar Mountain where you will start to see the Grasslands. You will drive throughout a large grasslands where the nomads live for their summers. This is amazing road where you can see an increasable opened grasslands, there are only a few local cars and truck on this road. After driving about 2 hours, you will be at Lake Kokonor ( Chi: Qing Hai Hu). The largest salted lake on the Tibetan plateau. You will enjoy the view of the lake from the top of Shala Pass, This is a off tourist track where you can get the best Panoramic View of the Entire Lake. Then you will continually drive throughout Shala Grassland and a couple of Tibetan farming villages. Over night at Hai Nan Hotel in Chabcha town.

• Day 2 : Drive to Drakar County, Then to Bazong

  Drive to Drakar County. This is 2 hours driving, you will be driven throughout large nomadic regions. Where you will also see some Tibetan villages. Finally you will arrive at Drakar Monastery. This is one of the most hidden and remote monasteries in the region. This is also one of the 25 power places of the Tibetan Buddhism. Visit the monastery, possibly doing a kora around the monastery. It takes about 2 hours. Then drive back to Draker County for lunch and drive another 2 hours to Bazong county (Chi:Tongde). Before you reach to Bazong, you will see an amazing panoramic view of The Baku Canyons. You will arrive in Bazong in the early evening. Over night in Zongri Hotel.

• Day 3 : Drive to Sogwo Grassland

  Drive to Sogwo via Tsekok County, you will see Hor Monastery in a Hidden Place. This is historical Yogi Retreat monastery where you can see a long Mani Wall. Then drive to Sogwo throughout a large rolling grasslands where you can see numerous nomads and their camps. You will arrive in Sogwo in the evening. Camp near a nomad family.

• Day 4 : Drive to Lhamu Latso Hot - Spring, Then to Labrang

  Drive to Kesum grassland via Lhamu Lhatso holly springs, you will drive through Drakgyago Gorge where you start to see Mongolian nomads who came to this region in the 13th century. You will arrive in Kesum at noon, After noon, drive to to Labrang via Serlong valley. Where you still see many nomads, you will drive along the yellow river. You will arrive in Labrang in the earlier evening. You will stay at Bao Ma Hotel.

• Day 5 : Drive to Rebgong

  Visit the Labrang Monastery in the morning. You will be guided by a local monk at the monastery. Spend some time on your own to explore the monastery afterwards. We will drive to Rebgong (Chi: Tong Ren) after lunch. You will see a few very beautiful Tibetan nomadic towns where you eat nice and fresh yogurt. Over night in Rebgong.

• Day 6 : Drive Back to Xining

  Visit the Seng-ge Shong (Upper and Lower) Thangka painting monasteries, the most famous Thangka painting schools in Tibet. You can go the thangka painters’ house have tea with them while you are seeing their amazing paintings. Return to Xining in the evening.
