Today after breakfast depart to reach Diglipur &trip Ross and Smith joined together to make a single group of islands. These beautiful islands are in North Andaman, few nautical miles from Diglipur Jetty. What makes these islands truly beautiful and sets them apart from the rest of the islands is that these two islands are joined by a natural, sand bar. Its like if you face both the islands, you see a road kinda thing which is actually a sand bar linking both the islands. And thus, while walking on the bar one can move from one island to the other. This white, silky sand bar goes inside the sea at times of high tide and surfaces up again during high tide. One can easily reach these islands by taking a boat from Diglipur that costs anywhere from Rs. 500 to Rs. 2000. Boats run from early morning till noon. The island also has a small tree house where one can climb and enjoy the serene beauty. The islands also have a bit of corals under the water but they are not much known and are present in deep sea so in a way coral life is not to be experienced here. During high tide, the sand bar disappears leaving a trail of water between the two islands and during low tide the sand bar appears again making the islands look majestic!Water is crystal clear and gem green in colour. Sun bathing in Ross and Smith Islands is a wonderful experience that can be had only after visiting them. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Morning breakfast trip to Ramnagar Beach of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is situated in the northern region at the Diglipur Island and is accessible through water and road. The sandy beach is only 15 kilometres away from Kalighat. The beach is surrounded by palm and coconut trees and other coastal shrubs.Alfred caves are best known as the habitats of Swift let birds. There are about 10 caves in total in this area and most of them are inaccessible. You can get inside only in 2 or 3 of them. Some of them are so narrow that it is almost impossible to get inside them and from many years, even the forest guides have not got a glimpse of the inside of the caves. Alfred Caves lie in the Diglipur sub division near Ramnagar beach. To reach the cave, you have to trek for about an hour which is not very difficult though it can be cumbersome and tiresome for many. These are limestone caves, similar to the ones that are located in Baratang. The trek is through thick forests so even in the peak of the Sun, you stay cool but there is no place to sit if you have to take a bit of rest. For that, you may have to find a wooden plank and rest yourself over it. Carrying a water bottle is a necessity and so is a pair of good shoes.
