Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is an amazing trip to the bottom of Annapurna I from South. It offers you plenty of experiences of mountain beauty, adventure, new culture, and some adventure. This is why, reaching at the foothill of world's 10th highest mountain—Mt. Annapurna has been one of the most popular trekking choices since long. In this journey, the sunrise view from Poon Hill shall be one of the most memorable moments. The journey through Macchapuchhre Base Camp over moraines and boulders to Annapurna Base Camp, and the view from Annapurna Sanctuary are other important moments in this trek. The trail passes through several small villages, waterfalls, rhododendron forests, and dark, damp, and cold bamboo forest, ascending and descending— all becoming a perfect blend of beauty, adventure, and knowledge.

The 14 days itinerary of this trek shall begin after your arrival in Kathmandu. You shall spend an extra day in the capital city, and fly off to Pokhara the next day. A drive from Pokhara shall take you to Naya Pul from where you shall begin trekking towards Ulleri. On you way to Tadapani from Ghorepani, you shall make to the Poon Hill to get glimpses of sunrise. Via Chhomrong, Bamboo, Deurali, you shall reach Annapurna Base Camp, and return back to Bamboo. Leaving Jhinu Danda, you shall arrive at Naya Pul, from where a drive shall take you to Pokhara. Next day, you shall fly to Kathmandu.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

  Altitude: Kathmandu: 1,320m
  
  Our representative waiting for you at the airport shall take you to your hotel. After you rest for a while there, you can walk around. We shall be sitting together for dinner at a local restaurant, enjoying typical Nepalese dishes. This might give you a rough picture of what to expect for your typical lunch or dinner in Nepal. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

• Day 2 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu

  Altitude: Kathmandu: 1,320m
  
  Kathmandu is one of the best places to visit historically, artitecturally, and religiously important places. You can visit the Pashupatinath Temple, Bodhhanath, Swayambhunath, and Basantapur Durbar Square. The streets are colorful and busy. You can do some shopping for your trek. We shall be sitting together for a debrief session talking about our planning and arrangement for trek. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

• Day 3 : Flight to Pokhara/ Trek to Ulleri

  Altitude: Ulleri: 2,050m
  
  Witnessing the mountains below on your right, you shall fly to Pokhara early in the morning. A dive for Pokhara shall take you to Naya Pul. From here, you shall start trekking. The trail goes through forest in a valley, crosses a river, and arrives at Tikhedhunga Village. Further, the trail through boulders and stone steps shall take you to Ulleri. Stay overnight at Ulleri.

• Day 4 : Ulleri to Ghorepani

  Altitude: Ghorepani: 2,750m
  
  The stone steps uphill comes with breathtaking views of Annapurna, playing a hide-and-seek, occasionally coming into your vision and disappearing. The trail through several small villages, tea houses, and waterfalls lead to Ghorepani. You shall stay at the higher part of Ghorepani to witness panoramic views of mountains. Explore the place to find small shops selling crafts and other products. Stay overnight at Ghorepani.

• Day 5 : Ghorepani to Tadapani

  Altitude: Tadapani: 2,700m
  
  Early in the morning, you shall rise and shine, and embark uphill to Poon Hill. Once you reach there, the glowing mountains in the radiating sunlight shall blow your mind. Mustang, Pokhara, and the over 20 mountains are visible from the top. After spending a while here, you shall descend down to Ghorepani, and continue towards Tadapani. Stay overnight at Tadapani

• Day 6 : Tadapani to Chhomrong

  Altitude: Chhomrong: 2,170m
  
  The trail climbs downhill through forest, makes through terraced lands, and ascends uphill passing waterfalls to arrive at a stream. Crossing the suspension bridge, the trail climbs uphill and then descends down and reaches Chhomrong. You shall find that Chhomrong is actually situated at the lap of Annapurna. Stay overnight at Chhomrong.

• Day 7 : Chhomrong to Bamboo

  Altitude: Bamboo: 2,310m
  
  Before the trail takes you to the Chhomrong Khola, you have to make through the series of stone steps. Crossing the suspension bridge, the trail moves uphill to the Sinuwa Village. Further, beautiful journey through a forest takes you to Kuldihar. An easy downhill takes you to Bamboo. By the time you reach Bamboo, you shall have walked 4-5 hours. Stay overnight at Bamboo.

• Day 8 : Bamboo to Deurali

  Altitude: Deurali: 3,230m
  
  Dark, damp, and cold forest awaits you. Then, the steep trail heads uphill to reach the Himalaya Hotel. Then the forest clears, and you get to see glaciers. The path through the dry forest leads to Hinku Cave. The trail drops down to a river and climbs uphill to Deurali. Throughout the journey, you get to see breathtaking views of mountains. Stay overnight at Deurali.

• Day 9 : Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (abc)

  Altitude: Annapurna Base Camp: 4,130m
  
  The trail can become quite mercy-less today; you shall have to make steep climb over a rocky cliff. An ascent takes you to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. The vegetation vanishes after the Machhapuchhre Base Camp, and through moraine and boulders you shall make to the Annapurna Base Camp. The Annapurna sanctuary offers amazing views of Annapurna and other mountains. There, you might want to take your camera out and shoot some of the best shots of your life. Stay overnight at Annapurna Base Camp

• Day 10 : Abc to Bamboo

  Altitude: Bamboo: 2,310m
  
  This is the first day of your return journey, and you shall descend downhill to Bamboo from the ABC. Down through the same boulders and moraines, first through the dry forest, and through the dense, damp, cold, and dark forest you shall reach Bamboo passing Macchapuchhre Base Camp, Deurali, and Doban. This is not much difficult journey in comparison to your ascent uphill. Stay overnight at Bamboo.

• Day 11 : Bamboo to Jhinu Danda

  Altitude: Jhinu Danda: 1,760m
  
  The trail drops down to Chhomrong, passing Kuldihar, Sinuwa, crossing a suspension bridge, and making through the stone steps. Now comes sharp descent downhill to the valley of Modi Khola. You shall descend downhill to Jhinu Danda through terraced farms and lush forest. Once you reach Jhinu Danda, the rest of the day is yours. It takes about 6 hours from Bamboo to reach Jhinu Danda.

• Day 12 : Jhinu Danda to Naya Pul/ Drive to Pokhara

  Altitude: Naya Pul:
  
  The trail descends down to Naya Pul, offering you the amazing views of hilly landscape. Boarding a vehicle you shall drive from Naya Pul to Pokhara, which takes about an hour. After you rest for a while at your hotel in Pokhara, you might be tempted to explore this beautiful city. The total journey from Jhinu Danda to Pokhara might take about 6 hours. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

• Day 13 : Flight to Kathmandu

  Altitude: Kathmandu: 1,320m
  
  Once you reach Kathmandu, our representative shall take you to your hotel. At your hotel, nothing can say NO to a well-deserved rest. When you feel like walking, you can walk around. You can also do some shopping before your return. We shall share our experience of trekking over dinner in a popular restaurant of the town. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

• Day 14 : Departure

  Our representative shall take you and your luggage to the airport before the flight in proper schedule. They shall then part away from there. Have a safe journey back. Do remember us for any other trekking in Nepal.
