Nature has bestowed it's plentiful bounties on Arunachal Pradesh, India's land of rising sun. The evergreen forests, the virgin floral and faunal varieties, the turbulent streams and roaring rivers meandering their way through deep gorges and lush green valleys, the inspiring mountains, and snow clad peaks - all make the state a unique place offering the tourist numerous opportunities for rafting, hiking and mountaineering. Arunachal Pradesh finds it's mention in literature such as the "Kalika Purana" and in the epics of "Mahabharata" and "Ramayana". It is believed that sage Vyasa meditated here and the remains of the brick structure, scattered around two villages in the hills north of Roing was the palace of Rukmini, the consort of Lord Krishna. The sixth Dalai Lama was also born on the soil of Arunachal Pradesh
Day 1 : Arrive Delhi/Kolkata./Mumbai
Met upon arrival Drive to Namari national Park
Met upon arrival and drive to Nameri wildlife park for 5 hours for overnight. Evening walk in the forest to see various birdlife. Nameri Tiger Reserve is nestled at the foothills of Eastern Himalayas; it covers an area of 200 Sq. Kms. Situated in the eastern border of Assam valley and mountainous Arunachal Pradesh, it’s a very scenic sanctuary with river Jia Bhoroli bifurcating through. Nameri is home to some of of the endangered species like White-winged Wood Duck, and many other winged species.
Day 2 : Nameri - Dirang
Morning drive to Dirang for 6 hours. Drive to Dirang 221 km in 6 hrs . The journey is along a very scenic road traversing forested hills. And crossing over the Nichephu pass to the Tanga valley .traversing the Tanga valley. The road climbs through a series of hairpins to the town of Bomdila, located at 2800m height pass of same name. Here a after the road descend to the picture postcard Dirang valley at 1600m which is our Destination for the day. Overnight at hotel in Dirang
Day 3 : Dirang to Thembang by Drive
After breakfast, drive to Thambang where your camp staff will be waiting for your. altitude 7200 ft., 35 km Thenmbang is located in the top of the hill and the path is steep. Thembang is a village of Monpa tribe. Evening in the camp. OR Local House ,
Day 4 : Thembang to Semnak
After breakfast, trek to Semnak 15 km altitude of 7900 ft., a small village inside the jungle. The second day of the trek is through thick jungle and trail is easy. But watch out for those leeches! Evening in the camp.
Day 5 : Semnak - Lagam - Chander
After breakfast, trek to Chander via Lagam for 18 km. altitude of 9800 ft. This day is also little tough. Chander is a small village of Monpa tribe and also a Base Camp for Mountaineering. If the weather is clear than great views of Mt Gorichen and Mt Kangto are available from here. Chander is a famous for herding of Chongrey, an animal which resembles a half cow and half sheep. You will find more than 500 Chongrey in and around the village, it is also located in the top of the hill. In the month of January and February this place is completely covered by snow which last till March and April. Evening in the camp.
Day 6 : Chander - Namshu
After breakfast, trek to Namshu 14 km altitude of an 8800 ft, a downward trek, Namshu a biggest village of Monpa tribe in West Kameng District. Spand the day exploring the exquisite Buddhist Gompa, kalkaling gate. Chusker[ its traditional water mill] and village houses meet the people get an aidea of Lifestyles Evening /Camp or local House
Day 7 : Namshu - Sangti (8500 feet)
After breakfast, trek to Sangti valley for16 km. Sangti valley is famous for sheep breeding farm (high altitude sheep farm) Drive to Dirang 13 km over/night hotel
Day 8 : Dirang - Tawang (10,000 ft)
After breakfast drive to Tawang enroute crossing the Sela Pass (13,000 ft). We can see the distant views of Tawang monastery even though it is still 70 km away!
Day 9 : Tawang
Fullday sightseeing of Tawang including the monastery as well as the nunnery.
Visit Tawang Monastery, the birthplace of the 6th incarnation of the Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso (1683-1706 AD). It was here that the present Dalai Lama crossed the border into India after fleeing Tibet in 1959.
Founded by the Mera Lama Lodre Gyasto in accordance to the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama, Nagwang Lobsang Gyatso, The Tawang monastery of the Gelugpa sect is the largest Buddhist monastery in India. The name Tawang means Chosen Horse. It is also known in another Tibetan name known as Galden Namgey Lhatse, which means a true name within a celestial paradise in a clear night. Located at an elevation of 10,000 feet (3,300m) in the district capital, Tawang, it is home to more than 600 Lamas. It has also a houses the Parkhang library. A collection of the 400-year-old Kangyurs which consists of 110 volumes with 400-500 pages in each bundle in addition to invaluable manuscripts. The lamas would get ready on ceremonial occasions for their dances and prayers. Dances and ceremonial celebrations are held in the courtyard, the most important of which is held on the night of Buddha Purnima. Other large collections include the Sutras, Tangym, Sungbhum, old books and other manuscripts, both handwritten and printed, many of them in gold. The collection has a total of 850 bundles.
It also houses a small printing press, which is meant for printing books to literate monks for religious services and their own education. The most fascinaing part is or the assembly hall - a three-storied building housing the temple and the 8.3-m high Golden Buddha.
Day 10 : Tawang to Zimethang, 88km 3 hrs drive Tawang Excursion towards the Tibet frontier
Its is situated about 88 km from Tawang visit largest Buddhist Stupa[chorten] which was constructed in 12th Century A.D .and visit Typical Pagchinpa tribe. this tribe they are migrate from china . Back to tawang after noon visit Buddhist nunnery Bromdungchung and Gyangong the Monpa have a traditional Nunnery Called Ani Gompa. Evening Typical Monpa cultural Programme at Village. over/ night/ hotel
Day 11 : Bomdila to Guwahati
280KM 8 Hrs drive
Day 12 fly to Kolkata or Delhi
