Assam - Arunachal - Nagaland Tour

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Kolkata - Guwahati - Nameri (B, D)

  After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Guwahati . Upon arrival at Guwahati, drive to Nameri (220 Km / 5 hrs) and check into Eco camp at Nameri National Park. Evening commence nature walk around campsite. Overnight: Guest House or Camp, Nameri or similar
• Day 2 : Nameri - Dirang (B, L, D)

  After breakfast, drive to Dirang (200 Km / 7hrs). En route visit Tipi Orchidarium to see over 200 types of Orchids. Lunch will be at Bomdila and later continue to Dirang. Overnight: Guest House or Hotel, Dirang or similar
• Day 3 : Dirang - Tawang (B, L, D)

  Morning, drive to Tawang (143 km, 7hrs). En route visit typical Monpa village at Dirang inhabited by colourful tribes. Proceed towards the Sela Pass (13703 ft) to see the Paradise Lake. Continue to Tawang (12000 Ft). Upon arrival at Tawang, check-in to your hotel. Overnight: Guest House or Hotel, Tawang or similar
• Day 4 : Tawang (B, L, D)

  Morning visit the legendary 400 year-old monastery at Tawang. Also visit Urgelling Monastery, situated 5km to the south of Tawang Township. Late morning, a day excursion of Zemithang to see Pangchenpa tribe and also visit the second largest Stuppa in Asia. Overnight: Hotel or Guest House, Tawang or similar
• Day 5 : Tawang - Bomdila (B, L, D)

  Morning, drive to Bomdila (185km / 7hrs). En route visit Jang waterfall and Indo China war memorial. Continue to Bomdila and upon arrival check-in to your hotel. Overnight: Hotel or Guest House, Bomdila or similar
• Day 6 : Bomdila - Itanagar (B, L, D)

  Morning, drive to Itanagar Itanagar (320 Km / 8hrs), the capital of Arunachal Pradesh has a lot to offer to the visitor. Besides the historical Ita Fort, museum and the famous Buddhist temple, there are also the Ganga Lake, sanctuary and the Polo Park, all places of unsurpassed natural beauty. Overnight: Hotel at Itanagar

• Day 7 : Itanagar - Ziro (B, L, D)

  Morning, drive to Ziro (160 Km / 5 hrs). En route, visit villages inhabited by the Nishi tribes. Also visit Apatani tribal villages. These are extremely ancient and very interesting tribes. The uniqueness of Apatani tribe is tooting on women face and its nose plug. Overnight: Hotel Blue Pine, Ziro or similar
• Day 8 : Ziro - Daporijo (B, L, D)

  Drive to Daporijo (160 Kms/ 5 hrs). En route visit Tagin and Hill Miri villages. It is amazing to see how similar the different tribes are in some ways, but are very different from each other in their cultural and social practices. They have each managed to hold on to their individual cultural identity despite living in such close proximity to one another. Overnight: Government Lodge, Daporijo or similar
• Day 9 : Daporijo - Dibrugarh (B, L, D)

  Morning, drive to Dibrugarh. Cross the Brahmaputra River by ferry. Dibrugarh was once a very culturally important city during the Ahom dynasty. Now in modern time this city is still important due to economic reason.Overnight: Mancotta Bungalow, Dibrugarh or similar

• Day 10 : Dibrugarh - Mon (B, L, D)

  Drive to Mon (130 Km / 5 hours), home of the famous 'Konyak' Nagas through lush green valleys of the tea-estates of Assam. 'Konyaks' are seen by everyone as the most backward of the sixteen Naga tribes. Commence an excursion to Longwa village. Return to Mon for overnight stay.Overnight: Kongam Guest House - Helsa Cottage, Mon or similar

• Day 11 : Mon - Mokokchung (B, L, D)

  Drive to Mokokchung (210 Km / 5 hrs), visiting local villages on the way. Mokokchung is home to the 'Ao' Nagas, and is an important economic and cultural centre for all of Nagaland. Interesting traditional villages to visit are Ungma and Longkhum village. Overnight: Whispering Winds Resort, Mokokchung or similar.
• Day 12 : Mokokchung - Kohima (B, L, D)

  Drive to Kohima (162 Km / 4 hrs), visiting Wokha en-route. Also visit Tuophema village. Tuophema is closely associated with the Angami Sekrenyi festival. Here, many village development programs are in progress. Overnight: Hotel Japfu, Kohima or similar
• Day 13 : Kohima - Dzukou Valley (B, L, D)

  Visit the famous Dzukou valley, which is also called the valley of eternal charm. The emerald green, rolling hills and serpentine streams leave all visitors awe-struck. In spite of the difficult terrain and non-availability of facilities, its’ sheer beauty and charm is such that scores of trekkers frequent this valley every year. Overnight: Camping at the Dzukou valley or similar

• Day 14 : Dzukou - Dimapur (B, L, D)

  Morning, drive to Dimapur (100 Km / 3 hrs). Upon arrival at Dimapur transfer to the airport to connect the flight to Kolkata.
