Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive in Athens, Greece.

  Welcome to Athens! At 6 pm, meet your Globus Host and traveling companions for a welcome drink.

• Day 2 : Athens.

  Sightseeing with a Local Guide features a visit to the Parthenon’s crowning beauty atop the ACROPOLIS, the Erechtheum with its Porch of Maidens, the beautifully preserved Theseum, the Roman temple of Zeus, theater of Dionysus, and the Agora where Socrates taught. Vistas of the government buildings and elegant homes in the modern city provide a striking contrast to the remains of the glorious past. The rest of the day is at leisure. How about a Greek dinner tonight? Your local host knows where to find local fare and entertainment reminiscent of Zorba the Greek.

• Day 3 : Athens–Marina Zea (Embarkation)–Ios.

  Embark your elegant cruise ship between 2 pm and 3 pm at Marina Zea, one of the largest marinas on the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoy a welcome cocktail on board before sailing into the deep-blue waters of the Aegean Sea and settling into the relaxing cruising routine of sunbathing and sipping cool drinks. Overnight at sea.

• Day 4 : Cruising: Ios–Santorini.

  Enjoy a refreshing swim stop at Manganari Beach, Ios—considered one of the most beautiful of the Greek isles. Arrive in Santorini around Noon and experience the stunning natural drama of the volcanic caldera. A cable car brings you to the town of Fira, a stunning cluster of white buildings atop a cliff. Why not join an optional excursion to Akrotiri, a city buried during the eruption that created the caldera in 1600 BC? Finally, stop in Oia, famous for its sunsets and filming location in the movies Summer Lovers, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and Lara Croft Tomb Raider, starring Angelina Jolie. Sail overnight to Patmos.

• Day 5 : Cruising: Patmos.

  Arrive this morning in Patmos, where an optional excursion takes you to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the fortified Orthodox Monastery of St. John the Divine with its grotto where John is believed to have received his apocalyptic revelations, and the historic center of medieval Chora. With your afternoon at leisure, explore Scala, the capital, or take a swim at a nearby beach. Overnight in Patmos.

• Day 6 : Cruising: Kusadasi, Turkey–Samos, Greece.

  Two ports of call are on today’s agenda. First is Kusadasi on the Turkish coast. An optional excursion is available to the fascinating Greek, Roman, and Byzantine excavations of Ephesus. Next, discover the quaint Pythagorion port on the island of Samos. Enjoy a late-afternoon swim, walk through the narrow alleys of the city, or just relax at one of the many seaside cafés. In the evening, sail for Delos, birthplace of deities Apollo and Artemis, according to Greek mythology. Overnight at sea.

• Day 7 : Cruising: Delos–Mykonos.

  Enjoy an optional morning tour of the unique archaeological site of Delos, antiquity’s most sacred island. Then, sail into a beautiful nearby bay for a refreshing swim stop and lunch, weather permitting. Later, reach Mykonos, the exquisite “Island of the Winds,” where you’re free to explore on your own. Around the town’s waterfront area, watch for Petros the Pelican, the island’s official mascot for over 50 years. Why not end your evening like a local—with a glass of Ouzo and traditional mezedes (appetizers)? Overnight in Mykonos.

  • Meals & Drinks : Breakfast, Lunch

• Day 8 : Cruising: Mykonos–Tinos.

  Reach the island of Tinos with its Venetian fortifications, iconic Church of Panagia Evangelistria, and more than 80 windmills scattered through the hillsides. Enjoy a swim stop and barbecue at Ystemia Beach. After lunch, sail into Tinos Harbour. An afternoon optional excursion is available to the picturesque Tinos villages of Exovergo and Volax, where you’ll see famous basket weavers and marble sculpting workshops before heading back to the ship for an overnight.

• Day 9 : Cruising: Tinos–Kythnos–Cape Sounion–Marina Zea.

  Sail to Kythnos, a quiet island in the Western Cyclades, boasting beautiful sandy beaches and hot springs. Enjoy a swim and a beach barbecue. In the afternoon, sail towards Cape Sounion, the southernmost tip of the Attica peninsula. Here you’ll enjoy farewell cocktails and dinner under the ancient Greek Temple of Poseidon. In the late evening, return to Marina Zea for a final overnight.

• Day 10 : Cruising: Marina Zea (Disembarkation)–Athens.

  Disembark your ship between 9 am and 10 am. The remainder of the day is free to catch up on last-minute shopping. Enjoy an optional dinner in a romantic restaurant.
